MSM's Obama-love: 'Like a 9th-Grade Boy Embarrassed to Stand Up'
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

"Thrill up my leg"? Forget about it. Chris Matthews's famous description of the excitement he gets from Barack is nothing compared to the tumescent terms in which MSNBC senior campaign correspondent Tucker Carlson has depicted the intensity of the MSM's love affair with Obama. Tucker appeared on today's Morning Joe.

TUCKER CARLSON: It's gonna be such a great election; it has been so far.

JOE SCARBOROUGH: Especially when you have the media loving one candidate as much as they love Barack Obama.

CARLSON: But it's more than love. I mean, it's the kind of love that anyone who's been a 9th-grade boy understands this species of love. Do you know what I mean?

MIKA BRZEZINSKI: Wow.

SCARBOROUGH: No, it's the truth. It's all-consuming.

CARLSON: It's red-in-the-face, I-think-about-you-when-I-go-to-bed, too embarrassed to stand up, it's sealed-with-a-kiss love. I mean, it's real, it's palpable.

It’s pretty obvious that these two, far from praising Obama, were goofing on the MSM for being “gay for Obama.” Basic frat boy humor, somewhat inappropriate for a morning news program, but definitely an attack on Obama and his media synchophants.

And like that, it'll end up as no more than a stiff spot on the sheets. As I said earlier:
Even though he is more left-wing than Hillary. Even though he has even less experience in government than Hillary. Even though he has even less personal, emotional connection with this country than Hillary. Even though he's probably been involved with as many shady deals as Hillary. Even though he has cynically manipulated a racist pastor and church to shape his own ends. Even though he is deeply ignorant of basic economics. Even though there are all these things, he is the one candidate of the three that makes the average, ignorant Democrat voter pop a boner for. These people will be much more likely with him to cast all caution to the wind, say "what's the worst that could happen", and vote him in because his dark mysteriousness combined with his Dan Rather voice combined with their belief that what's behind door number three has really, really, really got to be something wonderful will give them a thrill like dirty sexual seduction that they've never really been able to resist in their ordinary life and this is an extraordinary situation.

My thoughts on how the MSM relates to BHO can be summed up with the song title, “When I Think of You, I Touch Myself”.

Yes, you’re right......it’s way too icky for either of these guys to present with a straight face, literally, on its own terms.....but there still is an element of truth to it, lurking beneath the surface, in the “takes one to know one” sense. Otherwise they’d never have been able to come up with that exact “formulation”. On Scarborough’s part, it may be how he feels about Hillary, given what his fawning interviews with her have been like lately-—and , fickle as these “young boys” can be, it wasn’t long ago, either, that millions of them were feeling the same thing about a young man of Obama’s age, about whom one of them said “power crackles from his jeans”-—yes, that man was the one who is now a bit older and grayer and redder in the face, and seems to be always standing around clapping in the background, with his mouth forever half-open, as if to catch flies..........Bill Clinton.

That’s what textbooks are for in the 9th grade: to hold in front of you as you walk down the hall.

Bill's gaping mouth has always nauseated me, but Tuesday night, while Mrs. Clinton was trying to sell everyone that she had actually won the election, he was standing behind her with his mouth closed, and looking more dejected than I have seen him in the last 30 years.

ha! Frankly, I think that is a pretty darn accurate statement from Tucker. And I’m not one of his biggest fans.

"...he is the one candidate of the three that makes the average, ignorant Democrat voter pop a boner for. These people will be much more likely with him to cast all caution to the wind, say "what's the worst that could happen", and vote him in..."

Perhaps but it will take a whole lot more then Democrats alone to elect the president. Obama loses big time with the Ind voters and has no chance in the South in the general. While I don't believe 20% of the Hillary supporters will vote for McCain I do believe some will and I also believe many of the younger people who registered will as in the past not bother to show up on election day despite what the liberal press says.

His problems with his the good reverend are not over and done by any means nor is his "bitter" statement made to the elites in CA.

There is a treasure trove of material to use against either of the democrats while anything the left can drag up is going to be old, old news. They won't bother to bring up his less then stellar Conservative credentials as a weapon because that will merely make him MORE acceptable to Democrats and Ind, even as it makes him LESS attractive to Conservatives. And since Conservatives are not a majority of the Rep party at this time the net result will be a plus for McCain.
