Been running it for a while now. Performance increase of around 10%. Good service pack. Very happy with it.

I still believe
this is the best service pack out there.

I wonder if it would bring XP any closer to my Ubuntu installation (dual boot). Now that would be impressive.

I tried several times last week to install SP3. It would get about 2/3 of the way. Then, I would get an error pop-up box with “access denied”.
It didn’t give any additional information.
I even tried installing in ‘safe mode’ and got the same error.

Probably not... but running XP in a VM under Ubuntu might.
;-)

I just got a new Dell laptop with Vista and I hate it. Will XP3 help me?

Yeah, I got one of those little gold shields down in my toolbar last night. I clicked on it and a popup asked me if I wanted to download the SP3 updates and when I clicked download, the popup disappeared and nothing else happened. No download. But at least that little gold shield is gone again!

The biggest detriment to Linux is all the versions and all the distros.
They are too confusing for most people to bother with.
What is the different between Gnome and KDE?
[I have tried a few different versions in VWare-type environments and from LiveCD. They seem very basic. So far, none has recognized my Kworld pctv card.]
