Avatar?
Mrs R2 received a catalogue in the mail yesterday from this outfit known as Avatar.
I thought I was up on all the New Age-y feel-good trends, but I had never heard of this group. They seem to be world-wide and they don't seem to be all that spiritual or religious, so I'm not sure if they're a cult.
It seems there are 3 basic beginner courses you need to take. They range from hundreds of dollars up into the thousands of dollars. You take these courses from Wizards or Maters.
Section One ReSurfacing
Section Two Exercises
I did a little Internet research and this is what I found:

Any FReepers involved with this? Anyone else ever heard of this group?
Crap.
I meant Masters.
Run. Fast.
Looks sorta like something that Lafayette Ronald Hubbard might have dreamed up.
If you want ‘enlightenment’ and aren’t a Christian, at least choose a real religion like Buddhism (not saying it is right but at least it isn’t a scam). This sounds like a new age money making scam.
Last I heard Avatar was some anime series that’s gonna be made into a movie...
I think you are right. As I got to looking at links, it looks like this is an off-shoot of Scientology.
I took all the courses and they were great!
Make sure that your instructor is a Jedi Mater..........
Cult.
Is he better than the Master Mater?
What I’m wonderin’ is what else you buy/do that would put you on THAT mailing list.
I receive numerous solicitations for all sorts of things but they are all pretty much in synch with interests I already have (e.g. the opera, orchestra, literature, travel, conservative news publications, etc. etc.). I receive a lot of religious solicitations and charitable solicitations but I never get anything for liberal, commy, or new age stuff. Can’t imagine why (not).
So.... there must be something you or the Mrs. have done that has gotten you on THE list. In any event, you certainly enlightened me today because I had never heard of this group.
What do you call a well-qualified fisherman’s assistant?
Honest ... I didn’t look it up ....
“Rundown” is a piece of Scientology jargon, and in this context “exercises” smells like one, too.
