Using tragedy to advance an agenda has been a strategy for many global warming activists, and it was just a matter of time before someone found a way to tie the recent Myanmar cyclone to global warming.
Former Vice President Al Gore in an interview on NPRs May 6 Fresh Air broadcast did just that. He was interviewed by Fresh Air host Terry Gross about the release of his book, The Assault on Reason, in paperback.
And as were talking today, Terry, the death count in Myanmar from the cyclone that hit there yesterday has been rising from 15,000 to way on up there to much higher numbers now being speculated, Gore said. And last year a catastrophic storm from last fall hit Bangladesh. The year before, the strongest cyclone in more than 50 years hit China and were seeing consequences that scientists have long predicted might be associated with continued global warming.

Of course he doesn't mention that 2007 was the worst winter in China for 100 years.
I guess that's why tsunamis are such a brand new phenomena.
I think I may have to cancel my vacation to the Bangladesh Hilton resort. That country is a cyclone magnet.
Way to dance on the dead Al.
looks like the 1860-80s were in desperate need of an Al Gore...well, he’s better late than never!
So there were no cyclones before Gore’s supposed global warnming?????
Assault on reason?
Hypocrats truly know no shame!
Same ole playbook too, just project and demonize those that point out your exploitation of the idiot masses!
Rush was far closer to the truth, liberalism/socialism/communism, all the various -isms are FAR more culpable. Those people aren’t free to travel, live hand to mouth and were sitting ducks. The people of New Orleans at least got warnings and had the means to leave.
Of course the assault on reason is to ignore that cooling, warming, man or no man, the world has had, does and will always have hurricanes, cyclones, typhoons, earthquakes, volcanos, tornadoes, twisters, floods, mudslides, fires, and as long as there’s man: war!
Liberalism is a disease, and as virulent as cancer, only worse because of the collateral damage!
I know your point. These weather events are not unusual, not stronger than usual, nor more frequent than usual, and not due to “global warming”, much less anthropogenic global warming.
The high death tolls are due to poverty.
My point is that leftists exploit the high death tolls to try to implement more of their policies that would result in even greater widespread poverty, especially in America.
Mr. Gore, and I ask this respectfully, how did cyclones occur BEFORE global warming? Like say, 500 years ago, or even 100 years ago. Unless I’m mistaken, there have been cyclones in this part for quite a while.
Liberalism is a consequence of unprotected sex(syphilis)
Gore's rant contradicts the fact that ocean temperature probes have not been showing a rise in temperature.

Once again, I give Algore an “F” for effort.
People like Al Gore make me think sometimes that abortion can be beneficial in certain instances for the greater good of humanity.
I noticed the other day that he attracted only 3,000 people at $40 per for his last speech. I think the bloom is off the rose.
ALGOR is an Affront to Reason!
ALGOR is an Affront to Reason!
cant stress that enough!
this cyclone is more likely due to Winter cooling in the Southern hemisphere, than to so called 'global warming'. Excess cooling, as typified by this last winter and late onset of spring, exaggerates the temperature gradient across the Southern temerate zone Northward to the tropics, and everybody knows the power of extreme temperature gradients.
