All right. I'm calling about Operation Chaos --

RUSH: Yes?

CALLER: -- which so far has been, you know, an incredible success. I don't need tell you that.
I just turned 18, and it was my first election, and I live in Ohio, and, you know, I voted for Clinton to throw off the whole Dems.
Basically my question is this. Since it's been so successful, what do you think...?
How do you think...?
You know, what can we do to prevent the Democrats from trying this, you know, on the Republicans?

RUSH: They've been doing it!

CALLER: You know, doing their own Operation Chaos in 2012.

RUSH: No, no, no, no!
This is a great question. You're 18?

CALLER: Yes.

RUSH: And so you have some things have happened, you were not old enough to pay close enough attention.
Who do you think picked John McCain as the Republican Party nominee?
You think Republicans picked him?

CALLER: I assume more liberal and mainstream Republicans would vote for him.

RUSH: No, no, no.
Do you think Republican primary voters nominated McCain?

CALLER: Probably more independents.

RUSH: Uh-huh. And Democrats crossing over in places like New Hampshire, it was Michigan in 2000.
The Democrat Party chose our nominee.
They didn't put him over the top, but they gave him the early lead in the early states where there were not a whole lot of conservative Republicans in these early primary states.
The Democrats have been doing this as long as I have been alive and longer.
This is balance! This is us playing by their rules.
To worry about if they turn it around?
They have never been this effective.
Well, they have, but they've had the whole Drive-By Media urging voters to do this and getting their message out.
We are but one show, and we have equaled and surpassed their efforts in the past.
Fear not on this.

I have trouble believing the Democrats are a)that numerous; b)that powerful; c)that concerned about another political party when their own is in such disarray.

I have the same trouble. I can see why people in Florida and Michigan, knowing far in advance that their votes would not count, re-registering as Republicans, in order to have some sort of say in a primary. But New Hampshire? A hot race starting in their own party, and they'd rather play games with the Republicans. Not believable.

However, I've come to a different conclusion. Personally, I think we need to face facts. This time, there wasn't any viable conservative candidate. The alternative theory, that there were no conservative voters, is even more painful.

They purposely left out the names of all others that they said were not in the top three even though Hunter at one time was. While Hunter was in the top three, Fox News, kept him out of the debate.

Hunter in the top three? I think you must have imagined something, unless you're talking about a meaningless Free Republic poll. He was my favorite candidate, so I watched the polls carefully. There was never a time when he had the ghost of a chance.

“There needs to be a full on revolt at the convention. I wish delegates would start firming up a plan to get this goat out of the way, so we can run a real Conservative.”

I believe the day will come again for that - BUT for now, do we want to keep the White House safe from the Dems? YES. And, ironically, it’s JSM’s centrism and bi-partisanship in past instances that may well gain enough indies and cross-over dem’s to decide the race in November. Now, if only voters have awakened enough to put a significant number of Rep’s back in the Senate and Congress - THAT’s as vital as the presidential race, in order to save the country. We gotta keep our eye on the prize, people (’cause I guarantee two Dem’s and their party are).

I’ve thought that early, early on - that the Dem’s staged their own operation chaos via Ron Paul.

Finally, let’s look at the other choices for First Spouse - Bill Clinton, NO. Michelle (America-hating) Obama, HELL NO.

Yes, exactly, and THAT needs to be driven home again and again in the general election. It’s that kind of track record that cuts a lot of ice with millions of Americans. (PS - the only reason BHO lags HRC in those pork numbers is that he just hasn’t had as much time to catch up yet)

Hell, the guy is going to propose or support more leftist programs over the next four years, than Kennedy has passed in his entire lifetime.

Between McCain, Hillary and Obama, I think that Hillary would be the most "successful" in pushing a legislative agenda. That effectively makes her election the worst case scenario for more leftist programs.

But my more immediate concern is for the President's role as Commander-in-Chief. Putting Hillary or Obama in that role could have disastrous long-term consequences for our country. McCain is the only realistic alternative to them.

I believe the day will come again for that - BUT for now, do we want to keep the White House safe from the Dems? YES.

Why?  If the Dems are in the White House, we will rally to oppose them.  If John McCain is in the White House he will propose many of the things they would have, only nobody will oppose him.

Guantanamo, Global Warming legislation, granting amnesty to illegal aliens, John is going to support the leftist views on these items.  Who will oppose them?  Will the RNC oppose John?  Will the Republicans in the Gongress oppose him?  Will the Democrats oppose him?  Here are two examples where John will push the leftist agenda, and nobody will oppose him.  If Hillary or Barack proposed these things, the Republicans in Congress would oppose them.  Go down the line and think about what John is likely to propose, and you'll note that across the board what he proposes will be passed into law, with no opposition whatsoever.

What happens with the North American Union comes up?  Nobody will oppose John if he pushes it.  If Hillary or Barack did, we'd be up in arms over it.

Please listen to yourself.  Your hope for the future is that independents and cross-over Dems will support McCain.  It's one thing if they cross over to support a Reagan, because he's pro American.  It's altogether different if they are crossing over to support a guy who is going to push their Global Warming agenda, closing Guantanamo, ending water boarding of terrorists, and granting tens of millions of illegal alien crimmigrants citizenship.

Here you address the idea that you hope voters will be smart enough to put Republicans in Congress.  Well, if they are true Conservatives I think that's an admirable goal.  If they are clones of John McCain and they help him to pass leftist legislation, we would be in a very serious situation.

John McCain is a poison pill.  Swallow his agenda and Conservatism is dead.

Give me an enemy I can rally like minded people against.

What timeframe are you referring to when you say "initially"? 5 weeks ago when you signed up at FR, or sometime since then?

Personally, my fears grow every day as John opens his mouth.

Rally how and with what?? Have you watched many cspan House and Senate sessions? A Dem. president AND a Dem. congress? Please, God, no.

Going back to when Mitt dropped out (prematurely, imo) and we knew JSM was the candidate we were left with. Most of us never took him seriously until close to the end - remember, just last August he seemed dead in the water and even had to take out a personal loan just to keep going. Politics have a lot of twists and turns, and maybe that’s why so many of us are addicted to it! :-)

Do you remember the Medication addition to Medicare coverage?  Who opposed that?

Do you remember when Bush doubled the budget of the Department of Education in under four years?  Who opposed that?

Do you remember when amnesty was on the line?  Who opposed that?  You may think a majority in Congress did.  I don't believe that for a moment.  If that effot hadn't taken place late last fall, we would never have stopped it.  McCain caved because he know it would doom him to never being viable as a Presidential candidate.

What you folks seem willing to sign on to, is a situation where just about anything can be passed without oppostion.  If Hillary Clinton gets in, Conservatives will oppose her with all their might.  If McCain gets in, most Republicans will join John in whatever he wants to do.

I don't understand why you can't see this.  Don't you understand that you will be signing on to a one party situation in Washington, D.C.?  Forget the party names for a minute.  Just realize that only lefitst agenda will get passed.  NOBODY AT ALL will be lofting Conservative policies.  NOBODY in public office will be supporting Conservative policies.

I guess it's futal to try to explain this.  Folks have been programed for so long to support the party no matter what.  When that party goes over into the middle left territory, folks still feel compelled to do so.

I’m totally with you. Knowing the depth and extent of the deadly threat we face, our national security and defense are the ultimate deal-makers/deal-breakers to me. Without that, NONE of the rest will matter (thus, my tagline)
