“Much easier to call people “rinos” than to bring some research to the discussion. Flame away....”

Who started the insults? YOU......now research? We’ve been giving you research for months! Why confuse you with facts when your ‘mind’ is made up?

Bye!

What can we do to remedy the under and uninsured issue? What’s the best way to fix it?

The first thing to do is recognize who is under- or uninsured.

Recall the vaunted 40 million people in the USA who are uninsured. Of these --

1. Approximately 10-12 million (at least) are illegal aliens.

2. Approximately 10-15 million are young adults who choose not to purchase health insurance.

3. Approximately 10-12 million are legitimately poor people who are eligible for Medicaid -- but haven't needed to draw upon it, as yet.

So, we're talking about a "problem" that consists of somewhere between one and, at most, ten million people. Maybe.

Why should the government perform radical surgery, risking the whole national healthcare industry in order to accommodate the perceived needs of only a few million.

Accordingly, whatever "solution" is discussed should be proportional to the "problem".

“Purposefully BS’ing to the American people, when the truth is one google search away, is the stupidest part of this condescending idiotic scam.”

Should be called the BS Express.

You are making yourself look like a fool.

McCain’s plan is a non-starter. That his campaign would put out a number of $7Billion is an insult to the basic intelligence of the American people.

For the record, I was a full charge accountant for a medical benefits company for 3 years, and have personally sat in negotiations for blocks of medical benefits for blocks of 5,000+ policies at a time. Been threatened by state Insurance commissioners, and have court affidavits against health insurance companies that were cooking the books for premiums.

What McCain is suggesting is the destruction of Federal ERISA law, and state laws, to create a situation that will result in less transparency, a smaller market of insurance suppliers, higher rate of rate increases, and less consumer choice.

What he proposed is a fix that will last just long enough for McCain to get reelected president in 2012. Just as Romney’s plan in Mass was destined to failure, as McCain’s advisors have a pretty well known and consistent track record for “reform”, it’ll end up a travesty of epic proportions.

You need to go find a new forum to spew your garbage propaganda.

They throw insults in an indirect way. For instance insurance is too complex for most to understand. Meaning if you don’t agree with I am saying you are an idiot. We call it elitetism.

In this case, I would probably call it shilling. The job description requires full support of anything the candidate proposes. Actual debate of the issue, with any factual convincing evidence, is usually above the paygrade--hence spewing insults is the only alternative.

Still no answer to my rather simple question... go figure!

"Higher cost, but better than nothing. If you have cancer (as my mom did) and you have insurance through job for lower group rate (as my mom did) and you have to quit your job because of said cancer (as my mom did) and lose Cobra after the reassignment period, you are screwed."

Exactly. This is the position we would be in if my wife lost her job. If so we would be happy to pay the entire cost - employee and employer - of her current insurance, but as a cancer survivor the problem would be access as private purchasers.

Anyone who wants our vote needs to have a practical plan to allow us to pay to pay to keep her insured, including the coverage for preexisting conditions currently available through the group plan.

This is it exactly. If a person has EVER had cancer, they are uninsurable and therefore can’t even go for a pap and mammogram or prostrate exam unless they cover the full cost. That makes people not get checked as often and end up with full blown stage IV cancer or other things.

The November 2008 choice will be between McCain and Clinton or McCain and Obama.

Not McCain and YOU.

Not McCain and ME.

And sure as h*ll not McCain and whoever you wanted to get the nomination.

Can we just get on with things? Elections are not wish lists. They are choices and in America on presidential general elections they are choices between TWO people.

I cried the day Ronald Reagan past away. But he ain’t coming back and he won’t be on the ballot.

So, while McCain is certainly not everything I wished he was and there are several problem areas that he has failed us on. The fact is, he is head and shoulders above ANYTHING the democrats have to offer.

There are hundreds of reasons to vote for McCain and push him as opposed to the other candidate. Here are a few:
McCain will tax less...
McCain will hold the line on terror better...
McCain will do better on borders...
McCain doesn’t hate the military...
McCain will do more to protect the unborn...
McCain will spend less...
McCain will have more respect from foreign leaders both friend and foe...
McCain will do more to keep the death tax suspended...
McCain has a more attractive spouse...
McCain will hold the line on communist expansion in South America better...
McCain is LESS succored in re: global warming...
McCain will appoint better judges...
McCain will give more respect to the right to keep and bear arms...
McCain will give more respect to free speech...

Your list is amusing. Take this one:
McCain is LESS succored in re: global warming...
Never mind the facts about McCain's long-time sponsorship of legislation for this hoax. What we now have is:
The Congressional Budget Office says current cap-and-trade legislation would amount to a $1.2 TRILLION tax hike on the American economy over the next ten years.
Personally, I think the number will be higher, will subject us to international law (along with his support for LOST) and will result in the largest wealth-redistribution scheme in history. (Will the McCain shills tout this as more "pooling" of risk?)

"Better on borders"? Let's not forget about the $2.5 TRILLION dollar price tag that goes along with McCain's amnesty plan.

With a McCain presidency, who would fight these policies? Certainly not Republicans muzzled by their new "standard bearer."

You speak to me of a wish list, then you post this very far fetched wish list of just wha tyou HOPE McCain will do.

There are hundreds of reasons to vote for McCain and push him as opposed to the other candidate. Here are a few:
McCain will tax less...

His plan concerning health care posted here to today by me, he states that he will work out with Congress how to pay for the plan if there is no money for it. We call that a tax increase.

McCain will hold the line on terror better...
IMHO Sen. Clinton will do the same.

McCain will do better on borders...
Yuo are tooooo funny for words.

McCain doesn’t hate the military...
One point.

McCain will do more to protect the unborn...
two points

McCain will spend less...
I do not think this is true. He will be a one term POTUS and will move to the left to do something in that time.

McCain will have more respect from foreign leaders both friend and foe...
Leftist crap! Take away two points. But thanks for letting us know here.

McCain will do more to keep the death tax suspended...
No proof there, if he needs the money to make his mark.

McCain has a more attractive spouse...
More attractive than what?

McCain will hold the line on communist expansion in South America better...
There is not much difference between Socialism and Communisium, not much whatsoever.

McCain is LESS succored in re: global warming...
He supports the wole line of BS from what I’ve heard him say.

McCain will appoint better judges...
Not true! McCains chief advisor according to Bob Dole is the same person that told the Senate that Souter was a CONSERVATIVE, which we all know isn’t true. take away two more points.

McCain will give more respect to the right to keep and bear arms...
The SC will make this a non issue in the fall when they rule on the 2nd.

McCain will give more respect to free speech...
This one is the funnist one yet. Do you really think he is going to appoint judges that are going to overturn his hallmakrd McCain/ Fiengold?
Minus three points.

Times up you loose.

So where exactly are you planning on putting your Obama bumper sticker? I suggest the window as the adhesive ruins the paint.

There are only two choices dimwit. McCain is better on every issue than the DEMOCRATS. Not just a little bit he is mile ahead of the Democrat.

Good luck supporting the DEMOCRATS though. Enjoy your new party!

The man who recommended Souter was John H. Sununu, the father of the present Senator and an uber-conservative. Warren Rudman (remember him from Graham-Rudman) agreed that he was a perfect stealth conservative who could be confirmed by the Democratic Senate. Souter went to private interviews with all of the Republicans on the Judiciary committee and they passed him as a conservative vote on the court. Everyone was wrong.

I am a Conservative something you and McCain are not.

If McCain doesn’t move to the right I will not vote for him.

I am tired of the Republican Liberals taking advatage of conservatives.

I hope you enjoy the Socialist Republican Party you no doubt have helped to create.

You are working for more abortions, more taxes, more spending, worse judges, more surrender to the war against terrorists and you call yourself a conservative? Nice reverse speach there. Comrad.

I am a conservative. You and Hillary are working to make sure MORE liberal people are in office.
