My wife and I just felt a very noticeable earthquake.
It woke my husband up and we live in Kansas, in the KCMO metro.
I was wondering about this. I was down in your neck of the woods for the races at Keeneland last weekend.

Found this artcle that might interest some (for laughs I have copied one sentence that is amusing...LOL)
‘New Hazard Estimates Could Downplay Earthquake Dangers’
(snip)
“We want to know how well we can predict that shaking. If we overpredict, communities could be spending enormous amounts of money [on earthquake preparation] that they could be spending on other things,” Stein said. “We look at it as whether you’re going to spend money putting steel in your schools that might be better spent hiring teachers.”

Right...let’s don’t spend money reinforcing schools...Let’s pay teacher’s more...(big eye roll)
Had about 6-8 waves hit the house and caused a settling crack in the wall to make noise.

I’ve been to reelfoot lake. Lots of snakes. I hear it’s good fishing.
LOL. They are so transparent.
Ping for a safety check-in from Chas!
How y’all doin?
My husband and I fished there years ago. It is beautiful and lots of channels off the main lake to explore. Lots of stumps as I recall, so go slow if you ever put a boat in there.
I was there too! LOL I was near the Winners Circle up until about the 4th race then went into the paddock for the rest of the day. I went yesterday to see the steeplechase and got some pictures of Feeling So Pretty. She finished last. Oh well. She was vanned off the track because of some muscle cramping, but was ok afterwards. I will be there tomorrow hopefully with a friend that will help me get through the crowds.
My sister and her family felt it in Wentzville, MO. I read it was felt in Columbia, MO as well.
LOL..Wonder if that is where all the monies went for the LA. levy systems that ‘failed’ in NO? THE TEACHER’S UNIONS!!
They sure do have their tenticles in some very unlikely places, don’t they?
LOL
Doin’ fine! Didn’t feel a thing. You and Charles are probably a little closer than I am, Cletus, did you feel anything?
Did you feel this one?
It was felt here in KC? I sure didn’t feel it, but I lived in LA for 18 years so maybe I’m use to the shaking???
According to the DUmmies it’s “Whaaaah! Bush’s fault”.
Some damage in downtown Louisville to an older building. A report of a gas leak in a trailer park. There was a slight injury in E’town to a guy who was cut by a piece of falling crystal (he was at the ER for stitches).
there were after shocks....Probably it was more like 90 seconds... but it was long....Not much different if someone had dropped an a-bomb on us...
BTW the EQ was Bush’s fault.
A big Hi from down in Gallatin.
That thing woke us up this AM too. Down
here theres a lot of rock,figure that`s
why we felt it so well here.Hope it`s all
over.
It sure was felt by a lot of people
over a huge area.
