“Carme Chacon is the first woman to serve as Spain’s defense minister, and she’s seven months pregnant. Critics say Chacon, 37, has no military experience. Supporters say the appointment demonstrates that not only can a woman hold a senior position in government or business, but she can do it while expecting a baby.”
Socialists of course, get it all wrong once again. It’s not that she’s a woman. It’s not that she’s pregnant. It’s the “no military experience” portion of resume that makes her unqualified.

What a pathetic government. Spain has become so P.C., so wussified.........just sick.
To: SkyPilot
She has no military experience. Kind of like Spain’s military.

So does anyone know why she got the job? Forget female, forget pregnant, why is she qualified?

Utterly ridiculous, but look at her background - she’s a lawyer. Their administration has basically declared gender war on it’s own military force, and will soon fire salvos of legal challenges to their various rules and regs.

Not only can a woman hold a senior position in government or business, but she can do it while expecting a baby. And without having any experience. Isn't that great!?

In Socialist countries, the role of defense minister is not highly regarded. It is a stepping stone to the more powerful ministries like Health and Human Welfare.

Socialist Spain has one of the lowest birthrates in Europe - except among the Moslem reconqisteros. Cheers to Carmen for her contribution to preserving the indigenous Iberian gene-pool.

It doesn't take me any time to realise that this is nonsense.

Scary to think that she has even less military experience than Les Aspin did when Clintler made him SecDef.

Am I the only one that is sick of hearing the term “baby bump”? Come on, this should be an international affairs story, instead of a US Weekly tabloid spread.

This is Zapatero’s display of his contempt for the military.
I would like to see NATO disbanded. The Euros can then form their all girl, all gay army. Disgraceful.

What's more amazing is that a Spanish woman is actually having a baby. Their fertility rate is at like 0.00003/children per woman or something, isn't it?
