This week, groups planning to protest during the Democratic National Convention in Denver are getting some training.

A group known as "Recreate 68" is planning several demonstrations while the convention is in Denver in August.

National experts are in town teaching protestors how to assert their rights and how to act during police encounters.

The training will focus on first amendment rights, police questioning and police searches.

In ‘68 they had fire hoses, dogs and nightsticks.

Let’s recreate 68? Okay with you, okay with me...

At the convention, either the Hillary people will win and be happy, or the Obama people will win and be happy.

"Recreate 68" doesn't seem to want to wait and see. They're just gettin' ready to Rumble!!

I’ll assume that that’s a rhetorical question. But seriously, most of these protesters are at least semi-professional, and it is not uncommon for the organizers to cruise the local homeless shelters and promise free booze to anyone who agrees to participate.

Fine idea. The GOP was victorious in ‘68.

Recreate 68?

So, how did that work out the first time?

The whole world is watching!

In ‘68 they had fire hoses, dogs and nightsticks.

That's why they want to recreate it. There's nothing they want more than to have some of their cannon fodder, er, protesters get hurt in front of the cameras so that they can scream about police brutality. It someone gets killed they'll be ecstatic.

Denver -- Mayor (D)
Colorado -- Gov (D)
Lt Gov (D)
Event -- Democrat Convention
Protesters -- Democrats

When violence breaks out, and when local officials gets rough, the media will blame the Republicans. Wait and see.

I remember the original '68, the aftermath, and the commission that studied the violence.

Let me be the first to lay the blame squarely on the Denver police ("police riot!") -- and suggest that the commission be formed now so that they can have their report out in time for the actual events. Before or after, it won't make a lick of difference in the conclusions of the "commission."

No need even for photos of police violence from other countries, they have Photoshop today.

One of the best things to come out of the Chicago DNC Convention in 1968 was that Ted Kennedy DIDN’T run. Mayor Daley wanted him to and of course, his brother Bobby had just been assassinated...so, who better for the DNC to choose than Ted?

Can you even imagine it? *SHIVER*

The second best thing was the clubbing of many YIPPIES (Abbie Hoffman’s group.)

I am sure this will be as smooth as that other Democratic stronghold that faced a hurricane, what was it?

New Orleans?

Yes, I am sure it will be just like New Orleans.

You will not be able to stay home, brother.
You will not be able to plug in, turn on and cop out.
You will not be able to lose yourself on skag and skip,
Skip out for beer during commercials,
Because the revolution will not be televised.

There will be no pictures of you and Willie May
pushing that shopping cart down the block on the dead run,
or trying to slide that color television into a stolen ambulance.
NBC will not be able predict the winner at 8:32
or report from 29 districts.
The revolution will not be televised.

The revolution will not be right back after a message
bbout a white tornado, white lightning, or white people.
You will not have to worry about a dove in your
bedroom, a tiger in your tank, or the giant in your toilet bowl.
The revolution will not go better with Coke.
The revolution will not fight the germs that may cause bad breath.
The revolution will put you in the driver’s seat.

The revolution will not be televised, will not be televised,
will not be televised, will not be televised.
The revolution will be no re-run brothers;
The revolution will be live.
