We as a nation have forgotten that there is a word that describes the condition where someone dictates through coersion how much of the fruits of their labor another is entitled to and how it will be spent. It’s called slavery.

“ordered the release of $200 million in emergency aid”

“Release” meaning it will be spent on the corn and wheat markets,

which in return will increase scarcity at home and raise prices.

George. Why are a dozen eggs $3.89 when last year they were $.99?

MY FIRST THOUGHT EXACTLY!

As long as we have one hungry person in USA we should not give money away to people in other countries!

And how much of this world wide price rise and scarcity is caused by the anthropogenic global warming mania?

Stock up on food before they give it all away. There is a real shortage going on everywhere.

I thought all bills having to do with revenue had to come from the House.

Silly me.

Coming to neighborhoods near you and me soon thanks to Ethanol and unnecessary and politically driven "save the earth" laws stateside.

personally, long time acquaintances can't recognize me anymore after the facial beating I have taken personally at the behest of government redistribution.

The USA is often the first responder and delivers the largest donations. Or was. Since China is doing so very well these days perhaps they are taking the lead in these matters now.

So please let me get this straight.

Major countries around the world are celebrating our economic heartburn, and trying to exacerbate it by shorting the dollar. They are gloating over the waning American influence and saluting our imminent demise as an effective world power.

However, when the third worlders, who have s&&t in their own nest economically, socially etc. etc. are out of food who does the World call for to help?

My answer asPresident would be to tell the World Bank and everyone else, "sorry, we are a little bit preoccupied right now. Get back to us in a year or five and we will be happy to chat.

With Clinton it was "I feel your pain". With Bush it is, "We will share your pain". I think the guy is out of the loop as far as the American people are concerned.

What small percentage of the $200 million will actually be used for food that actually gets delivered to the starving?
