Free Republic Beta Update: New Mail Features & Font

Updated the beta site today. I've added the following new features to the mail system:

• Favorites folder-- you can mark messages as favorites. Favorites are saved into a folder that can be accessed through the "Favorites" tab on the mail interface.
• Search! You can search for messages from people, and you can search for text within messages sent to you.
• and a few miscellaneous changes.

I'm also experimenting with format changes on the index pages.

That would be a tremendous resource - although I’m sure it would nail the server.

Thanks again for all you do, John. Are you making changes to the font on the Forum page? If I may suggest the title needs to be larger than the comments section, as it’s very hard on the eyes when skimming through the page. Also, the “replies” is a tad small and hard to find. Could this be larger and/or in color?

You can always use a CSS style sheet, such as a Firefox add-on provides. Sorry, I’m working on taxes, can’t help now.

I have my page configured like this:

When I click “more” on either the forum or beta page, I just get the “latest articles” list refreshed.; I don’t get the next 15 articles on the list of articles. Is this the way it is supposed to work?

You can use your regular search engine for that (at least with Google, Yahoo, and MSN).

Just precede your search terms with site:freerepublic

Question, does:

Select: All | None

select all showing on the currently displayed page, or all my messages entirely? I'd like to delete my older messages, but I am afraid that if I go do one of the older pages of messages and Select All, then I will be selecting, then deleting All my messages, not just those listed on the page in front of me.

Earlier, John said the time displayed will be the time shown on your computer. If you have your computer set for Mountain time, it should be correct on FR.
