HALL OF FAME #19 THE WEEKEND THREAD T.G.I.F. at the Finest |
Every Thursday at the Finest |
It won’t be long and I’ll be turning on the A/C. I will enjoy any hint of crisp mornings for as long as they last, though the last two have been a bit TOO crisp!. Everything has leafed out.
I saw my first coyote trot across at the back twice ...That’s a critter I never expected in town..I want him GONE!
Shoot em! : )
We are a long way from AC... Maybe July for that.
I would if I could!
These military tribute posts of yours are always great, and I thought I would tell you this time, GodBlessUSA!!:)
(((HUGZ)))
Quite a day in the U.S.A., as reportedly 5,000 military and family members waited at Andrews Air Force Base this afternoon, to welcome Pope Benedict XVI to his first visit to America.
I was at a friend's house where we had gathered to pack care packages for our soldier's unit in Afghanistan. The soldier's Mom and one of his "aunts" had baked goodies to include in the boxes. We had just finished assembling, taping and labelling the packages when the Pope's airplane --- called "Shepherd One":) --- came into sight over D.C.
We watched on Fox News live, and I just watched a replay on EWTN. They will be covering the White House reception tomorrow, and all other events this week.

Wow, and I missed it all as I had company today. Thanks for the ping Dita!
Awwwww....I wish I had been home to watch it myself.
I loved it that the president personally met him at the
airport. That was a wonderful gesture!
How are ya doin’?
It was wonderful that the President and the First Family went out on the tarmac to greet the Pope. They were very humble about it, no speeches at all, just a simple welcome.
I am fine. However, when we took packages to the post office and realized it is tax day: what were we thinking? LOL. And you?
I’m doing good. The weather here has been beautiful and I
have roses blooming. The wind is supposed to get stronger
tomorrow, so I just hope the sand doesn’t blow. Ugh.
And, it’s getting close to time for our trip and we’re all
SO excited. Ms. B is going to get to go, too. Yay! Just wish
you could! ((((hugs))))
I promise you would love us! :D
Potlatch, here is the link to the EWTN schedule. Tomorrow’s big event will be the White House reception. http://www.ewtn.com/tv/NA_041308.asp
I was surprised to see the military so involved in the welcome, and the crowd was wildly enthusiastic!
P.S. I pinged a “friend” of ours (wink) we haven’t seen post in a long while....
I hope that sandstorm misses you too...yuk.
The time is fast approaching for your trip; I know you’ll have a blast and ... hey, I already love you!!! Awwwww......:)
Thanks much for the link and ‘yes’ I think I know who you mean!
((((hugs))))
...as I do you! You are so sweet!
How are you today? It's a beautiful day here today!
Came home from a school function. Then they called me and Booboo was at the nurse. Back I went to pick her up.
