Quite a day in the U.S.A., as reportedly 5,000 military and family members waited at Andrews Air Force Base this afternoon, to welcome Pope Benedict XVI to his first visit to America.
I was at a friend's house where we had gathered to pack care packages for our soldier's unit in Afghanistan. The soldier's Mom and one of his "aunts" had baked goodies to include in the boxes. We had just finished assembling, taping and labelling the packages when the Pope's airplane --- called "Shepherd One":) --- came into sight over D.C.
We watched on Fox News live, and I just watched a replay on EWTN. They will be covering the White House reception tomorrow, and all other events this week.

Wow, and I missed it all as I had company today. Thanks for the ping Dita!
Awwwww....I wish I had been home to watch it myself.
I loved it that the president personally met him at the
airport. That was a wonderful gesture!
How are ya doin’?
