I wonder why no one at CBS and no one here on FR was able to see at the outset that Katie would be a huge failure at this. Oh, that’s right, EVERYONE here at FR knew that this was going to be a monumental failure. It would be fund to dig up the links to some of those old Katie threads and email them to CBS.

Way back when Couric first signed her deal with CBS, I read an article in a media business journal in which the author made the case that CBS really didn't have the ratings for their evening news in mind when they signed her. Their primary objective in signing her was to get her away from NBC so that CBS could make a dent in NBC's ratings for the "Today" show.

I wouldn't be surprised if this were the case. Those early AM shows are probably a far more lucrative market for the networks than their evening news.

...I agree. It would be fun to dig up all the Katie threads and send them over to CBS. I, for one, saw this coming before she started at CBS.

To All TV News Execs: If you want viewers by the millions, give us the truth in each story, and drop the liberal agenda.
