All McCain voters are selling the rest of us TRUE CONSERVATIVES out!
Enough!
Show you have the values of your convictions and leave the BLUE BLOOD REPUBLICANS in Washington, crawling on their knees for forgiveness!
Although I must say that a Libertarian drug warrior is more ironic than rain on your wedding day.
It’s a bit hysterical to triple post
On that I have to agree. :o)
“There are several questions that the McBots have no answers for, as their fragile world views would be torn asunder.”
To paraphrase that great philosopher Jack Nicholson, “Some people can’t handle the truth.”
I’ve had them get upset when I’ve talked about the true documented history of McCain. Some have asked not to have links to McCain’s past posted here. It’s “not helpful.” To which I say, “would it still be ‘unhelpful’ if it was about the Democrat nominee instead of the Republican one? Or would you be gleefully digging at the dirt hoping to expose all of it?” No response, of course.
The truth is what it is, and always, always has value. If we give McCain a pass while concentrating on the faults of Hillobama, we are as big hypocrites as the liberals. Double standards are always wrong.
I have a feeling, though, that those who wish to hide their heads in the sand and repeat the mantra, “he’s a war hero, he’s a war hero” will be forced by the MSM to confront the truth of McCain’s past ‘round about late October. Those ought to be some lively threads.
Thank you, dear, I've lived through a few Presidential primaries. Sometimes we have a lot of good candidates, sometimes, only one or two, and the process is much easier for the average primary voter.
We had an unusual primary this time around, in that there was neither an incumbent President, nor an incumbent Veep. Everyone had been around a while, and had his own supporters and detractors, and there was carp flying from the get-go. It was a nasty, brutish process, made worse by voters from outside the party who tried to disrupt it. Yes, McCain did get independent voters, as he always had, and some Democrats. But he got quite a few solid Republican votes, as well, and conservatives saw their votes split among several fine candidates.
It was just the luck of the draw this year, and McCain came out on top. He wasn't chosen by the RNC, or in some smoky back room. If you don't like him, that's fine, many didn't vote for him in the primaries, including myself; I'm a FredHead. But in the interest of this country, I'm sucking it up, and voting for the candidate I believe will do a better job for this country than either of the Democrats would ever do. I'm not looking for pie in the sky, or desirous of making some sort of statement of principle. I'm dealing with what IS.
Right on, Conservativegreatgrandma. I hope everyone goes back and reads your post.
Even as he stabs the rest of us in the back?
I may vote for him but if so it will only be because he doesn't go as fast as the other two in destroying this great nation.
It might give us a chance to bail out of the car as it goes over the cliff.
He opposes earmarks and has supported full disclosure of all earmarks...
He supports veterans benefit programs..
He supports the second amendment..
He opposes partial birth abortion..
What else?
I actually agree, I was justlooking for any area of difference between him and the dems..
I swore that the one candidate I would NEVER vote for was McCain. But now I’ve changed my mind. I don’t see how I can stand by while the libs elect either Hillary or Obama.
At least McCain is not a socialist.
I’m kind of tired of being told to “suck it up and vote for the R”. McCain and the RNC has said, several times, that they don’t really need my vote. Why don’t you and all your McCainiac friends just go your merry way—you don’t need the conservative vote, you certainly don’t need my vote—so lay off, alright? McCain will not do anything significantly different than the other two, so it quite frankly doesn’t matter.
“Have you tried AA? It does work on some people but no guarantees.”
That’s it, insult anyone who dislikes McCAin....that’s a bunch of folks, by the way. Send McCain to AA, maybe they can help him with that temper before he really causes some harm with it.
I would suspect this is the case if the voting numbers weren't so high for the dems and so many Republicans I know didn't vote for McCain.. in reality, outside FR and the blog world, I hate to say it, a lot of folks like McAmnesty..
This (R) party has can't stoop any lower.
I keep hearing people complain this guy is a liar, pro-illegal alien, pro-big government, is a leftist and liberal, but they are going to support McCain and vote for him anyway.
This has become a sad joke on America.
I'd juggle flaming chain saws before voting for McCain.
At this point, I don't give a damn who is elected, as were screwed either way. The entire process was fixed and rigged by party insiders and the ruling elite. It just reeks and I honestly believe our entire electoral process has been compromised and undermined.
And bam, you just confirmed part 2 of my post (the part you didn't quote). It's the system, the system, the system, and you're helpless. You're a victim.
No, you don't have the numbers. Here among your fellows on FR you only have the illusion of numbers.
There are ways to get back in the game, but again I'll say, it's not the work of a single generation. Unfortunately, patience doesn't seem to be the virtue it once was.
He opposes earmarks and has supported full disclosure of all earmarks...
He opposes them TODAY, you mean. Read further, and my point will be obvious.
He supports veterans benefit programs..
You mean like how he supported trying to bring POWs and MIAs back from Vietnam? Or weren't they "veteran" enough?
He supports the second amendment..
He says he does today, but I hope you're aware that in 2001 he was the lead sponsor of an anti-gun show bill, and a second one based on the first which he introduced in 2003. During his presidential run in 2000, he spoke out against small, inexpensive handguns. So with McCain, it all depends on what position serves HIS interests. What will it be this year? What will it be if he takes office?
So much of this McCain's record can be found with a simple google search that I'm surprised more people haven't looked beyond the sound bites.
I have a feeling, though, that those who wish to hide their heads in the sand and repeat the mantra, hes a war hero, hes a war hero will be forced by the MSM to confront the truth of McCains past round about late October.
They’ll call it dirty tricks or some such nonsense, but the one thing they won’t dare call it is “truth.”
I’m not playing that game. I am willing to make some compromises in my conservative principles for the greater good. I will do that when I believe that the person on the ballot is a decent human being, even if we have policy disagreements. That is why I was able to vote for Bush 41, Dole, Bush 43 twice and even for Romney in the primary after my first two choices dropped out. They all are, ultimately, good men, even if they are further to the left than I. McCain is not. McCain is every bit as venal, grasping, corrupt and self-serving as any politician alive and a whole lot worse than most. He is wholly unfit, both morally and intellectually, to be POTUS, and if he wins, it will be without my vote.
