I have been praying for four years that Matt would be reunited with his family. Reading this news today is heartbreaking. It’s sad. I live in Cincy, so I heard the press conference live. I know they are crushed because there was always that chance he could be found alive. To me, that video released the June after he was captured (even though of poor quality) looked like hi being executed. It’s a shame his parents couldn’t have gotten confirmation sooner. It’s been almost four yeras.

I met Thomas Hamill at a book signing two years ago. He talked about Matt Maupin and how he wished he could get home also. I guess Thomas Hamill was the last American to see him alive.

To my fellow Freepers: once again, the Geneva convention has proven to be ineffective in protecting our captured soldiers. I can only hope Matt’s murderers were wiped out in subsequent firefights with the US military.
