The Casey Endorsement

By Katharine Q. Seelye

In a surprise move, Senator Bob Casey of Pennsylvania has endorsed Senator Barack Obama in advance of the April 22 Democratic primary. Mr. Casey had said he would remain neutral in the race in part because he wanted to help broker a reconciliation between Mr. Obama and Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton afterward.

“I believe in my heart that there is one person who’s uniquely qualified to lead us in that new direction and that is Barack Obama.” Mr. Casey said during a rally in Pittsburgh Friday.

Mr. Casey is going against the grain in his state, where polls show Mrs. Clinton ahead by at least 12 percentage points and where she has the endorsement of most of the state’s major Democratic figures.

But a person close to Mr. Casey said that the Senator had traveled to Florida over Easter and that rain had forced him to stay inside and he began to think more seriously about an endorsement. “He spent a lot of time thinking about it,” this person said, and he came to the conclusion that the race was “too important” to remain on the sidelines.

Theresa PAID for that empty suit, Casey, and he’s all hers. Plus he came a lot cheaper than her # 1 Senate vote, Kerry.

“Yah, there’s a “pro-life” Democrat all right. Endorse the guy that’s for late term abortions . . . because just killing isn’t enough . . . you want the baby to feel agony while it happens”

Barak takes it even one step further - hard as that is to believe.
He opposed the Born Alive Infants Act that would require medical attention for infants who survive abortion attempts.

Barak believes the babies should be left on a cold table to slowly die - afterall - the abortionists spent all that time trying to kill the baby - why waste the effort?

If someone is allowed to be cursing mad in heaven, I imagine that would be Robert Casey Sr. right about now.

Pennsylvania, you dumbed Rick Santorum and his 90% ACU rating, this is what you get. ( but at least he’s pro life right?) yes until Reid tells him to vote FOR abortion.

There were some on FR who were rooting against Santorum, and they got their wish.

None of this matters. Hillary’s got something on Obama and I think she will let loose right after she wins PA.

She is already digging his grave by publicly stating that its okay for the elected delegates to switch their votes. Why else would she say this unless she has a good reason for them to switch their votes. its also interesting that the majority of the superdelegates have yet to take sides. What are they waiting for? Maybe they know something we dont know.

The fact that Hillary is still in the race can be somewhat attributed to Rush and his little “Operation Chaos” which he concocted to stimulate his ratings and to sell merchandise. Hate Hillary sells fills alot of airtime and both Rush and MSM have a selfish interest in keeping the Rat race intact. Hillary could have been toast, but thanks to the crossover vote, she is still in it and she could still win. Lame McCain would be absolutely no contest against the Clinton machine and the MSM. Rush knows this and this is why he says that if McCain looses, its his own fault.

Casey endorsing Obama = an empty suit endorses another empty suit.

It’s a contradiction to say that Hillary has something she will unload on Obama which will cause delegates to switch away from Obama or undeclared to choose Hillary, and then claim that Hillary would have been forced from the race, or been rendered a hopeless case, IF NOT FOR RUSH’S “OPERATION CHAOS”.

If Hillary truly has this leverage over Obama, and if as you say even a lot of the super delegates are just waiting for her to unload it because they already know something is coming, then Rush’s machinations are irrelevant.

Then, Hillary would not have left the race, or been rendered a hopeless case, no matter what Rush did or didn’t do.

Why should she do anything but go forward full throttle, since according to you she’s got Obama right where she wants him and will soon knock him off his pedestal and send him down to defeat??

Yes, this makes no sense at all for Casey to endorse Barack Hussein Obama because Hillary’s too “pro-choice”. These sort of things make me feel like a Catholic version of Michelle Obama, ashamed of my religion.

Gee, I didn't know Bob Casey could say anything but "I'm Bob Casey and I approved this message."

Pity poor Bobbie Jr. With people like Patricia Bib Murray, Barbara Boxer and Tom Carper in the senate, he still can't get any respect as the dimmest bulb in that body!

Exactly, With the Clintonistas, this is a blood sport, with alleged rub-outs and “suicides” all in the name of the cause. It is really scary to think that “she” may become President of the US.

I do not get to listen to Rush very much, but if what you are implying is at all valid concerning his motives, then conservatives in this Country are a sorry bunch indeed.

Amen. It’s a shame that Santorum lost two years ago, because he was (and still is) more conservative than Casey (Jr., not Sr.). If Santorum were still in the Senate, he wouldn’t endorse Obama, and he certainly wouldn’t let Reid tell him (Santorum) how to vote. But then again, Reid wouldn’t be Senate Majority Leader right now if Santorum had won.

To those conservatives who endorsed Casey Jr. in 2006, because “at least he’s prolife,” I have this to say: “What were you thinking? If you wanted to support a real prolife Senate candidate, why didn’t you support Santorum?”
