Sen. Landrieu Landing Key Louisiana GOP Support
Bayou Buzz ^ | 27 March 08 | Jeff Crouere

Posted on 03/27/2008 9:56:44 AM PDT by LSUfan

After barely winning her initial Senate race in 1996 and surviving a serious challenge in 2002, Republican strategists targeted U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu as the most vulnerable Senate Democrat in this fall’s election.

Unfortunately for Republicans defeating Landrieu will not be an easy task. Just look at what she has done in recent weeks in lining up endorsements from a most unusual group, Northshore Republicans.

While Landrieu is considered a staunch Democrat, her voting record is notably moderate. Several months ago, GOP St. Tammany Parish President Kevin Davis surprised many political observers by endorsing Landrieu. Davis cited his close working relationship with Landrieu after Katrina. Landrieu’s efforts to assist the recovery after Katrina were also highlighted by a number of other Northshore Republican leaders who endorsed Landrieu last week. Joining Davis in crossing the party aisle were Hammond Mayor Mayson Foster, Covington Mayor Candace Watkins, and St. Tammany Parish Assessor Patricia Schwartz Core.

This makes me want to puke and I have no idea how Crouere can say Landrieu's voting record has been "moderate." She is weak on national defense and, on every single vote that really matters, she votes party line.

Disgusting.

All four should be publically cashiered from the GOP. But thanks to the rest of the traitors and turncoats now installed there-it will never happen.

Proving again that Republicans are their own worst enemy.

Yeah. Her rant during the ‘rat filibuster a few years ago was pretty moderate. Moderately nuts, I mean.

One thing this shows is that, when one party becomes dominant anywhere it tends to lose its identity.

That happened to the GOP in Washington when it controlled both houses of Congress and the White House.

In St. Tammany Parish, there is no Democrat party to speak of. I kind of wish there was, so assclowns like Kevin Davis would have a proper place to reside.

He won’t go any further though. His family is so eaten up with corruption (father in law in jail, wife a convicted felon) that he can’t run for anything that will shine a light on sleaze.

Pro’ly figures no matter what happens in the Presidential race, they’ll have to deal with a RAT Congress thus they are looking out for their parochial interests. For that matter, they’ll have a RAT POTUS one way or another.

I’m a Northshore Republican. I’ve never voted for Mary Landrieu and I never will. I don’t know anyone who will. Kevin Davis can KMA.

Very sad news. lil Mary running with Obama was a great chance to win. Let’s hope the rank and file are smarter than the jackasses running the party.

To be expected when the Republican Party becomes the party of:
1) McLame moderates
2) RINO’s
3) A Party without any principles

The Louisiana Republican party is probably one of the worst state Republican parties I’ve ever seen. I don’t know how Bobby Jindahl made it, because it wasn’t any thanks to them. They allowed a joke like Aaron Broussard to get reelected by not running any serious candidates against him. And the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s election was another travesty. The guy that won won with 90% of the vote. The Republican running against him hardly put out any signs or did any serious advertising. He probably would have lost anyway, because the winner was the hand-picked successor of the deceased sheriff he was replacing, but to win by 90%? That’s a joke!

You know, this is about the only Senate seat the GOP has of picking up this fall and shooting ourselves in the foot like this isn’t helping.

He was the chosen heir of Harry Lee (D) and Lee was the best elected official in the entire state.

Look at the crime rates in Jefferson Parish compared to Orleans.
