Not only that, we forget that the plural of "opus" is actually "opera." But never mind that.

The vote fraudsters often create phantom, non-existent people, e.g., the Jones family, and vote them absentee. Or they register them in a dim-controlled precinct where they will not be asked for ID. In some dim-controlled precincts where I served as a Poll Watcher I got the distinct impression that the clerks and Election Judge were in on the scam. They seemed to be eagerly anticipating a financial windfall for delivering votes for democrats. I think they get paid cash for results. Note some of the shenanigans in my poll watching reports such as the Election Judge allowing the democrat card pusher to come in and FORGE HIS SIGNATURE ON BALLOTS. That’s why it is critically important to BE THERE. In the 2000 election I prevented at least 100 fraudulent votes in the precinct where I was the Poll Watcher. You can make a difference.

Nice post.

We’ve had great luck here in Alabama at reducing vote fraud by simply mailing out postcards to registered voters each decade.

Cards that are returned by the Post Office give us a list of addresses/names of ineligible voters.

Where you live *matters* to your right to vote in a given precinct/election.

Pardon me if this is a silly question (and yes, to all the googlaholics...I googled it but didn’t find it)...

How does J6P get a copy of the voter rolls to research his area?

ty!

The official Voter Roll should be available from the Registrar of Voters. The major parties can get access if you have trouble. Its a public document.

I guess what you are saying doesn't compute with me. If they request absentee ballots, these too have to be mailed, which means they would have to steal these from the the Wilsons' mailbox. As for showing up at a "Dim Controlled Precinct," certainly there are Republican poll watchers there too who could be watching for people with fraudulent names. These should be relatively obvious as there shouldn't be too many addresses where there are people registered who have different surnames. (They would have to have different surnames because otherwise a voting Wilson would see other people who are part of his family who aren't part of his family.) Color me skeptical.

So, just contact the GOP and ask for a copy?

That easy?

Called the SOE office...the person who handles the roll is out of the office at the moment, TUrns out it is readily available, for a fee. Will find out eh fee and repost.

This is interesting!

If it is available as a spreadsheet, or database...well...one oculd work wonders with that!

That is the system I have advocated since the 2000 election and the surge of electronic voting. Cast your ballot electronically, let it print a voter verifiable ballot, drop the ballot in the locked box. At the end of the day, the electronic count and paper count better match!

I’ve been a Poll Watcher for several elections in Atlanta since 1998. I’ve seen 2 people go into the same voting booth. I challenged one of those ballots, and the Dem Election Committee overruled the challenge. I’ve seen campaigning in the voting line. And I’ve seen buses arrive and drop off 40-50 people at a time.

The last election I watched, one of the several precincts I was watching had a much higher provisional ballot count than the others and higher than normal. It was reported to the GOP Election lawyers, but as far as I know, nothing happened.

In Calif, For Your Info: When I changed my political party (well before the election deadline) and showed up to vote, there was problems for me. Since I wasn’t on the computer printout anymore and changed, I was given a provisional ballot. I voted as usual, and my provisional ballot was put in s different box to be checked against the voters lists later and then counted. While this was frustrating, I was happy that there are systems already set up for questionable ballots that are hand checked to count. While I think more can be done to make sure of voter identity, I’m not too woried.
