A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 200,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY

Thanks. His favorite verse is Proverbs 3:5-6.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on our own understanding and He will direct your steps.”

Evenin’ GeeBee. WFW greetings. Spring is in the air. Our lilacs are in bloom and buds are forming on the rose bushes.
Ahhhhhchooo! Lots of pollen too.
To: GodBlessUSA
Great thread - Spring has sprung. Somewhere, it’s to cold here.

Thank you for the warm fuzzy thread GeeBee.. it may have the smell of spring somewhere.. but here is looks still like winter & the clear air has a neutral & healthy smell here. That is one thing I like about winter..the air you breath deeply is so clear/good. No pollen, dirt, bugs..
the other day I posted a pix of Josy watching Toby chase deer.. I am here including the pix shot just before showing a little better Toby & deer. As you see the golf course fairway is LONG & in the one pix of just Josy it is difficult to see how big it is.. and this is just one fairway. In winter we walk the course at least once a week & sometimes more. In nice (golfing ) weather we do the woods surrounding it, which is for the most part Metro park. It is rugged & very hilly but good exercise.

Not really a warm fuzzy picture, but I thought I would share it anyway. I received this in an e-mail from a friend asking me if I knew what kind of dog this was. It is a mastiff. I searched snopes to see if the dog size was real and apparently it is.

Hi Dave
Rose buds, I’m jealous! Lilacs are so beautiful and so is their scent. Need to plant some lilacs here.
I hope your allergies are not too bad Dave. I get them but the worse part is when the trees open their leaves. They can be bad at times.
Happy WFW! :)

How cute, Tobby running after deer. I saw one in our back yard last year and could not believe the size of that Buck. Be careful Toby. :) Looks like winter is not going to leave quietly.
We have a course walk too. I love it.

Good Morning dixie sass :)
Thanks! It's too cold here yet too. I can't wait to see some warmer temps here also. I'd be happy with 50's during the day.

Morning GBA. I would probably consider him warm and fuzzy also because I love dogs, but he can also seem quite intimidating. I would love to have one like him, but I probably couldn’t feed him.

Trying to get my "happy housecleaning" (NOT) chores done...
Here is a crop/ enlargement of the pix. I wish I had a zoom of it. but as is it happened so quickly I was glad to have even gotten one shot off. The digitals are pretty slow in response. I may reduce this a bit & reload..

Honest Doubts
When they saw [Jesus], they worshiped Him; but some doubted. Matthew 28:17
Our experience tells us that people do not return from the grave. At the heart of our desolation when death strikes is the awful certainty that in this life we will not see our loved ones again. We attend funerals to honor their memory and grieve our loss, but we do not expect to be greeted at the door by the person who has died.
In light of this, it should not seem surprising that Jesus disciples were reluctant to believe that He had risen from the dead. Following the testimony of the women who had seen an angel, an empty tomb, and Jesus Himself (Matt. 28:1-10), the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted (vv.16-17).
Among those who were closest to the Lord and had heard His remarkable teaching and witnessed His powerful miracles, some doubted that Jesus was actually alive again. But the honest doubts of the disciples soon turned to joy and hope as they embraced the reality of their risen Lord.
What do we doubt about Jesus today? Does our experience tell us that our past mistakes, present struggles, or future prospects cant be changed? With fresh memories of Easter, lets trust that He can do all things.
Where Jesus reigns there is no fear,
No restless doubt, no hopeless tear,
No raging sea nor tempest dread,
But quietness and calm instead. Anon.
One look to Calvary can dispel your doubts.
