I took a cursory look at his tax returns for the last two years and was startled to see that he wasn’t hit with the Alternative Minimum Tax even though he made $1,000,000 a year... I’ve been hit with it the last 4 years, and I make SUBSTANTIALLY less than that.
Any good FReeper accountants want to take a shot at explaining that?
Oh, COME ON, people, how could you not understand? Liberal politicians are notoriously skimpy with charitable donations not because they a cheap, hypocritical, power-hungry liars, but because they give to the poor in OTHER ways...like voting for tax increases, voting for huge spending programs for the poor, etc. Geez, doesn’t anyone GET it - these people are so smart, so purely motivated, that we simply CANNOT understand everything they really do for the people of this country.

I think the point Princess Leah is making is that most liberals give less than the average conservative. There have been many articles over the years proving that Conservatives are just more generous.

That’s a useful column. Interesting how religious affiliation is the most important determinant. I wouldn’t say that Democrats “don’t give”, though.
How about this. Areas of the country with high democrat voter registrations, especially those with high average incomes give far less to charity than conservative areas, even those with much lower incomes.

No, I wasn’t asserting that the church WAS the only place,
but if it was, they had to have made at least 2 mil. If they gave more than that to other places, that would make their income substantially higher than 2 mil, given that their income, by definition, would be 100 times what they donated.
I am also interested in “which charity”. Donations to Planned Parenthood would be infinitely worse than none.
Is this his defense against the charge that he supported a racist church? The Clintons and Gores were proven to be tightwads, as well. Liberals only give other people’s money to buy votes from their victim classes.
