Will Rush Limbaugh Be Indicted for Voter Fraud?

As Ohio election officials investigate illegal crossover voting in the 2008 primary, questions arise on Rush Limbaugh's role.

Limbaugh, the nation's top-rated talk radio host, was urging Republicans in Texas and Ohio to skip their party's primary on March 4 and instead cast a vote for Hillary Clinton in order to prolong the fight between her and Barack Obama.

What Limbaugh encouraged Republican voters to do in Ohio was a fifth-degree felony in that state, punishable with a $2,500 fine and six to 12 months in jail.

On Thursday, March 20, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported that the "Cuyahoga County Board of Election has launched an investigation that could lead to criminal charges against voters who maliciously switched parties for the March 4 presidential primary."

In 2008, 2.22 million Ohioans voted in the Democratic primary, compared to 1.27 million in 2000, according to unofficial results released by Brunner's office. In contrast, 1.01 million Ohioans voted in the 2008 Republican primary, compared to nearly 918,000 people in 2004.

Michael Slater of Project Vote, a nonpartisan group that designs voter registration drives for low-income people, said GOP meddling in the Ohio Democratic Primary was a clear-cut example of fraudulent voting, which is how Republicans have defined the issue in recent years, as GOP advocates have urged state legislatures and Congress to adopt anti-fraud measures such as tougher voter ID laws.

"Here we have a real instance of spurring people on to engage in illegal election activities with a real intent to affect the outcome," Slater said. "That is voter fraud. People were encouraged to break the law. They had to declare allegiance to a political party and sign a document under penalty of perjury. Intent is what matters in voter fraud."

Behind Liberal Lines , I respectfully don't want to get into an argument with the rest of your thinking, but the Florida thing just struck this Rush fan (and no I'm not afraid to disagree with Rush) in the wrong way.

Oh boy, I missed a word.  The one missed word is in bold within the brackets.

What's a 5th degree felony anyway? Probably up there with tearing the tags off matresses.

Felonies are punishable by state prison time. I would guess a 5th Degree felony would be punishable by 1-3 years incarceration or five years probation.

Actually, here in Ohio, you can request a different party ballot in a primary, but a pollworker may say “I challenge” and then the voter must sign a statement that they want to change, belive in the principles of their new party, and that they are under no duress. If no challenge is given, no statement is signed and the ballot is given freely.

This hoopla is meaningless. How can the conscience of an individual be known by a prosecutor? It’s goofy.

Remember, this started before the Rev. Wright fiasco. Obama was rolling Hillary then. People are now talking about crossing over and voting for him. Tactics change. The goal doesn't. Besides, I'm told McCain has this thing locked up with all the “independents” and “moderates”

McCain has it locked now against Obama, but what happens if Hildebeast get nomination, Obama as a vice "Dream Ticket"?.

I think there is to much euphoria about "riots" in Denver and dems camp falling apart.

Obama will take a vice position, thats better than being Senator of Illinois.

How is McCain going to win against Hildebeast-Obama ticket?

In the worse case country may fall in real recession by fall, Slick Willy will come out of the woods and resurect "it's the economy stupid" mantra.

This is unfortunately a good chance of happening scenario.

"uhhmm ...okay.
And that get’s us all where?
"

We can survive the dollar going down a few more notches to make way for the new domestic manufacturing paradigm, and we can certainly do better without so many social programs and pathological sensitivities (hatreds against fellow Americans, against men in general, against heterosexuals, and the like).

And after enough of us due disrespect instead of voting, we'll see real choices for leadership.

The riots in Denver could actually work to Hildebeast's advantage. They could be her "Sister Soljah" moment, giving her a chance to look like a moderate, compared to the Obama wing of the party.

Remember, her original plan--and the MSM's--was to play her as the "sensible centrist" against Obama, Edwards, et al.

I would assume they'd drum up a "conspiracy" charge.

That's a very big assumption. What do you suppose we're doing on this site other than "conspiring" to influence elections?

If some idiot in Ohio wants to ruin his career by trying to "divine" voter intentions -- let him.

I believe you are a “skinny-legged” Obama Troll. P.S. real conservatives don’t use “anti-commie” except in humor. You see, Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher brought down the Iron Curtain in the eighties.

And I believe you are a lovely Hillary troll.

What screen names "real conservatives" like you use? There is suppose to be no personal attacks on this forum pal at least that was the case when I joined this forum long before you dude.

ACORN, yea I wouldn't doubt it. But "Project Vote" has been caught registering people ineligible to vote, they've tried to register people multiple times, and under fictitious names. (Oh and they pay their volunteers by the hour and a bounty for each registrant above some minimum.) They apparently get their money from Soros, at least in part.

I hadn't heard of Project Vote before, but I wouldn't doubt it. I did a little research on ACORN and discovered that they have been in trouble over voter fraud in several states. What surprised me is that ACORN is in ALL the states, and they work hand in hand with the unions. I think Soros funds them too.

There are so many illegal voters signed up this time, that I don't see how we can possibly win. I will go farther than that and say that I honestly believe that the Reupublicans would still have the House and the Senate, but for voter fraud. The RATS know well that there exists much fraud but they don't care. Anything they have to do to gain and/or keep control.

I don't know. It could be that many voters in both parties today would get aroused, if she tries to imitate a man (as normal men are perceived by her kind as scary brutes)

Eventually, the narrative will change to "the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy Stole the Nomination from Obama." Clinton, Inc., will gear back up, and El Rushbo will have gotten Hillary elected president.

But why give the Nifongs an excuse?

Who cares why they do it? Whenever someone challenges corrupt officials or bad law, they should be backed. I cannot understand why that would even be debated here.

Rush isn't a college kid at a frat party who doesn't realize the stripper is insane. He's an educated middle-aged man from a family of lawyers acting recklessly and creating a yet another opportunity for the 'Rats to smear us all.

So because you think his action is reckless, you would refuse to oppose an injustice?

Life isn't fair. Sure, the 'Rats get away with this stuff all the time. But we don't and, sadly, in today's environment, we need to be twice as careful as the other side.

You need a spine, IMO.

Everybody needs to calm down here. Rush does not control the Dollar, nor does the Fed actually.
Homosexuality doesn’t even enter the Economic equasion.
Can you define the “paradigm” and tell us what all of this BS has to do with anybody’s life?

If Rush didn’t vote illegally, they can’t indict him for Voter Fraud. If Ohio voters who were registered to vote decided to switch parties, within the legal time frame, neither can they.
