1. She cant win the nomination without overturning the will of the elected delegates, which will alienate many Democrats.
2. She cant win the nomination without a bloody convention battle after which, even if she won, history and many Democrats would cast her as a villain.
3. Catching up in the popular vote is not out of the question but without re-votes in Florida and Michigan it will be almost as impossible as catching up in elected delegates.
4. Nancy Pelosi and other leading members of Congress dont think she can win and want her to give up. Same with superdelegate-to-the-stars Donna Brazile.
5. Obamas skilled, close-knit staff can do things like silently kill re-votes in Florida and Michigan and not pay a political price.
6. Many of her supporters and even some of her staffers would be relieved (and even delighted) if she quit the race; none of his supporters or staff feel that way. Some think she just might throw in the towel in June if it appears efforts to fight on would hurt Obamas general election chances.
7. The Rev. Wright story notwithstanding, the media still wants Obama to be the nominee and that has an impact every day.

Hillary’s price will be high if they force her out. What will it be? Senate Majority leader? UN President? United world president? King of The state of Rhode Island ?
She sure got skunked out of that one, didn't she?
one way ticket back to arkansas after she loses her senate seat?
most of the dem elites dont like her and only pretended to when they thought she had power/fbi files/etc
Hey Mark... does that still add up to 15 points in the polls? And who did 'the media' want the Republican nominee to be?
Don't bother replying... we know... NOBODY.
Are they serious? She just pulled of the exposure of the greatest "Black Racist Hate Scandal" in contemporary times. She's tainted black racist churches and shown them for what they are: madrassas-like propaganda machines nurturing racial divide and hatred amongst any black who attend, down to Obama's 6 and 8 YO daughters.
Hurt his chances? I only wish a real republican was running for President. All they'd need do is pop their head up some time in late October and say "Hey! There's me!" and he have a cake walk to the Oval Office. I only wish Thompson or Hunter announced October 2008 rather than last summer.
Heck, McCain only had some 3 million in the bank on the last entry I saw:
Total Receipts: $64,654,539
Total Spent : $56,657,944
Cash on Hand : $7,996,595
Debts : $4,340,981
Date of last report: February 29, 2008
Rush Limbaugh may revel in "Operation Chaos", however "Operation RINO" has killed the republican party.
I'm still returning those RNC envelopes with "NO MCCAIN", "I'M A CONSERVATIVE, NOT A REPUBLICAN" or worse written in big black letters.
You know, why do I get this feeling that McCain is going to pick a "nob nibbler" like Charlie Crist or someone else completely unacceptable? He's done everything else he can to prove he's a rat.
“And who did ‘the media’ want the Republican nominee to be?”
Isn’t it obvious?
The media has set this country up by choosing the candidates THEY wanted, on both sides. They wanted Obama vs. McCain so they can have the fresh, young biracial newcomer vs. old, white and angry McCain
that will be the storyline in the general election.
If you think the shilling for Obama was bad in the media during the primaries, wait till the GE. If they trashed Hillary what will they do to a Republican?
the question is, will the American people fall for it?
Even if all the above is true, which I am not going to contest because I really don’t care, what makes anyone think Hillary gives a rodent’s rectum?
This is her turn, dammit! In fact, she knows full well it’s her only chance. She has to fight on.
If she gives in, four years from now Obama will either be running for reelection or he will be the presumptive challenger to McCain’s second term.
Hillary will be nowhere to be found.
Obama won't be the 'RAT nominee in 2012 if McCain beats him in 2008. The delicious thing about this cycle is the possibility of permanently destroying the political viability of two long term 'RAT candidates. Quite frankly if Obama gets the nomination but loses strongly in the general election in November, I wouldn't be surprised if Republicans in Illinois try to knock him off when his seat comes up again in 2010. His huge 2004 election margin was a fluke caused by the inadequate vetting of the Republican nominee who later had to withdraw.
Would this be the same people who are consumed nightly by American Idol or Survivor et'al? Of COURSE the sheeple will fall for it.....land of the free, home of the MORON!!!!
“most of the dem elites dont like her and only pretended to when they thought she had power/fbi files/etc”
Yes, but they will deal with the devil if they can avoid a convention fight. A convention fight is the quickest way for them to lose everything.
8. Huma’s toenails are very sharp, and can scratch your stomach when she rolls over at night.
Was halperin the MSM’er who spoke about the 15 points the media provides? I keep rememebering another name that escapes me this morning.
A Supream Court Justice.
Hillary will stay in until the convention and hope (or plot) that something extremely dreadful, even illegal surfaces about Obama. Something that would give all his supporters cover to “disown” him.
If it doesn’t happen, she will withdraw - but it will be at the convention, not before. IMO.
Hillary’s Plan B: assure BO’s defeat in November and run against McCain in 2012.
Hillarys price will be high if they force her out.
I would rather think Bill’s price will be high if they force her out. He wants to re-write his legacy so bad he will do anything including the politics of political party destruction to get back into the white house.
