DEADLINE to Register is March 24th in Pennsylvania
BY JULIE BENAMATI The Tribune-Democrat
As Mondays deadline fast approaches to sign up to vote in Pennsylvanias presidential primary, elections offices in Cambria and Somerset counties report a significant increase in Democratic registrations.
Political party leaders say the contest between Democratic hopefuls Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton is bringing new voters to the polls and causing some to change party affiliation altogether.
Cambria Countys election office has seen 955 new voter registrations since October, and 377 voters have changed parties in the past four weeks about 90 percent of those from Republican or other party to Democrat.

That's gamble I'm not willing to be part of - we can beat the hillderbeast - she is no where near being liked like bubba - not that I could ever understand his 'charm'
No one on our side should be voting for either one 0 this game playing is dishonest and one day it will snap back on us...this leaves us all without the slightest idea who really supports who...
It was simultaneous with the GOP becoming a mockery of the once-proud, conservative party it was in the days of yore.
Vote for her to keep the fight on the Democrat side going! A fight by the Democratic candidates for POTUS all the way to the Democratic Convention in Denver in August would be priceless! It also helps to take away all of the negative attention that otherwise would be aimed at “wussy, older than dirt” RINO McCain by all of the MSM.
Trust me on this, the fight between Obama and Hillary will go on without any help from us.
This is my greatest fear. How would it feel to wake up and hear President elect Hillary Clinton. Talk about chaos.
By the way I've been to Maine. It's a beautiful state.
We may actually get a real dialogue on race in this country, but not the kind that the Revs. Jackson, Sharpton, et al had in mind. Bring it on!
Re: Post 18. Good points!
The fault is truly in multiple layers for a variety of reasons: 1.) The Republican Party at every level stopped truly being a overall conservative party (always being the party of smaller government and always being the party of fiscal restraint) a few years back, even with the Republicans dominating everything important politically, and this also upsets many of the conservative voters base in the process while Republicans in general truly still continue to move even more to the “political left” everyday; 2.) All political correctness including, but not limited to, all of the “dumbing down” of people continues to get even worse everyday all over the world, and this has affected who the final candidates for POTUS will end up being for both major political parties (The continuous political bias in the MSM all over the world is also a part of political correctness.); 3.) There presently are too many Republicans at every level who want amnesty for illegal immigrants for either cheap labor purposes, for the creation of new voters, or for both reasons, and this issue alone has upset a majority of conservatives all over the U.S. knowing that allowing these things to really happen will truly destroy the country and turn it into a third world mess forever; 4.) Globalization also continues to make things worse on a variety of issues all over the world instead of better and also continues to upset many conservatives at the same time.
I agree = There's a dishonesty about it. The privilege we have to vote is not a game.
Thank you so much for responding. I was really beginning to worry that all Conservatives had lost their collective mind.
best "lobstahs" in the world. ;o)
It was simultaneous with the GOP becoming a mockery of the once-proud, conservative party it was in the days of yore.
I agree with you that the GOP needs to reconnect with its roots....but making a mockery of the vote itself will not lead us to this path.
I hope Conservatives can reassemble under the banner of principle and not under the banner of political circus. Our future demands no less of us.
It was not by our hand. It was by the hands of those non-Republicans who chose John McCain as our nominee before the vast majority of us ever had a chance to vote.
In a broader sense, the fact of the primary schedule rendering the majority of the primary vote moot is a key element of the problem that has existed for quite some time.
Iowa is a fine state, but I don’t want to be required to move there to have a say in the process.
It's past time.
However, the first dialog needs to be between the conservative black leaders and these militant ones - because Whitey, at this point, won't be allowed to say anything of substance without being shouted down as racist = not to mention how many would loose their jobs and positions. Think of the many who have already - good grief, remember a few years ago the man that was fired because he used the word "niggardly" in a sentence, a word having absolutely NOTHING to do with any race?
So the first dialogs need to be between the two black factions.
We have many good and decent blacks, most called Uncle Tom's, and there are some black ministers every bit as fiery as Rev. Bullfrog - but diametrically apposed ideologically - who could give these militants a run for their money.
Here's a link to one - he gets really good after the fist 30 seconds or so.

I agree.
Not all of us has.
Thank you so much for such a thoughtful reply. I have read every word of it.
But, IMHO, no reason you have given nor could give justifies turning the sanctity of the vote...for which millions have died and shed blood...into a circus act.
Our first principle as a Conservative is that the voice of the people must be heard——not manipulated or toyed with.
If the only way we can win an election is by tortouring the true voice of the people...then we deserve the political loss and any win we accomplish as a result is a political fraud.
Electoral loss often gives rise to greater electoral victory. If we’ve the faith in who we are and what we stand for we will not surrender to our darker angels and turn democracy into a circus where all faith in her glory is diminished.
This may be a Democrate cycle. If so...we’ve GOT to have faith in who we are and what we stand for and believe that a greater triumph awaits us.
Think Jimmy Carter. Then remember Ronald Reagan.
No voting chaos was necessary for his win. America ushered in landslide wins for Ronald Reagan based on principle.
yes--blind ambition... evilness, wickedness, vindictiveness... FBI files, IRS audits and abuse of the Patriot Act... this is what the Clintons will give us... knowing this makes me not want her at any cost... he (Obama) is certainly liberal... but he is not vindictive... she will use every bit of power she has against her enemies--who are conservatives... knowing all this, i cannot believe any conservative would prefer her...
besides, had conservatives stayed out of it, had she lost Texas, we would have both of them falling a part right now... right now, he's falling a part, and she's been brought back to life by conservatives... bad move on our part... stupidity at its peak...
In my mind's eye, Rush has taken a big hit for this showbiz stunt...his stature has gone from giant to dwarf.
The only problem with the idea of a “conservative comeback” in ‘12 is that both the Fairness Doctrine will eventually be fully implemented and illegal immigrants throughout the U.S. will also eventually be allowed to legally vote in all future U.S. elections. These two moves alone will greatly damage the U.S. conservative movement if not kill it off all together. All of the remaining major candidates for POTUS are socialists with Obama being the most socialistic and with McCain being the least socialistic, and all of U.S. conservatism has already lost no matter who the next POTUS is. Also, having the next Congress still controlled by the Democrats will only make things even worse on all of the issues. These will truly be troublesome times ahead for all conservatives throughout the U.S.
