Thank you so much for such a thoughtful reply. I have read every word of it.
But, IMHO, no reason you have given nor could give justifies turning the sanctity of the vote...for which millions have died and shed blood...into a circus act.
Our first principle as a Conservative is that the voice of the people must be heard——not manipulated or toyed with.
If the only way we can win an election is by tortouring the true voice of the people...then we deserve the political loss and any win we accomplish as a result is a political fraud.
Electoral loss often gives rise to greater electoral victory. If we’ve the faith in who we are and what we stand for we will not surrender to our darker angels and turn democracy into a circus where all faith in her glory is diminished.
This may be a Democrate cycle. If so...we’ve GOT to have faith in who we are and what we stand for and believe that a greater triumph awaits us.
Think Jimmy Carter. Then remember Ronald Reagan.
No voting chaos was necessary for his win. America ushered in landslide wins for Ronald Reagan based on principle.
The only problem with the idea of a “conservative comeback” in ‘12 is that both the Fairness Doctrine will eventually be fully implemented and illegal immigrants throughout the U.S. will also eventually be allowed to legally vote in all future U.S. elections. These two moves alone will greatly damage the U.S. conservative movement if not kill it off all together. All of the remaining major candidates for POTUS are socialists with Obama being the most socialistic and with McCain being the least socialistic, and all of U.S. conservatism has already lost no matter who the next POTUS is. Also, having the next Congress still controlled by the Democrats will only make things even worse on all of the issues. These will truly be troublesome times ahead for all conservatives throughout the U.S.
