Jeremiah Wright was White House guest
The recent coverage of Rev. Jeremiah Wright has often cast him as a marginal, almost fringe figure, but Trinity Church is a major Chicago institution, and Wright has long been a prominent pastor on the American scene.
And an anonymous blog set up to defend his church offers some compelling photographic evidence of this: A photograph of Wright and President Clinton, which it says was taken on September 11, 1998 -- the date of a White House gathering for religious leaders.
Hillary Clinton, according to her recently-released schedule for the day, was present at the gathering.
That's where Clinton reportedly told the assembled clerics, at the depth of the Monica Lewinsky scandal, that he had "repented."
As CNN reported at the time:
"I have been on quite a journey these last few weeks to get to the end of this, to the rock-bottom truth of where I am," Clinton said in his most emotional and dramatic statement since the affair with Lewinsky became public. "I don't think there is a fancy way to say that I have sinned."
Agreeing with his critics that he was not "contrite" enough during his initial Aug. 17 statement, Clinton said, "It is important to me that everybody who has been hurt know that the sorrow I feel is genuine. First and most important, my family, my friends, my staff, my cabinet, Monica Lewinsky and her family and the American people. I have asked all for their forgiveness."

If the “kind message” from Jeremiah Wright was in writing (I assume it most likely was since Bill Clinton sent a note in response) then it would be wonderful if the archivists could find it and release it!
It would be such fun to see some groveling pathetic suck-up from Wright to Bill Clinton in 1998, to juxtapose to the later quote about Bill and Monica “ridin’ nasty”

Every culture both modern and tribal or primitive has people who orate or scribe the traditions
and tell the story, narrate and on occasion rouse.
400 years ago Wright would be rousing the tribe around the campfire.
White culture has the same tradition of speakers but obviously has relied much less on an oral recorded tradition
or maybe he woulda been the spiritual shaman
on another note, I believe Wright and his black liberation theology seeks to fill a niche for black resentments that are not quite up to accepting Nation of Islam vitriol and prefer a Christianized version of the same thing more or less
in any event, he should be scorned as it is now.
however...it looks bleak....black support for this crap even if only tacit seems huge

As of this morning, it looks like this Wright-Clinton encounter hit the wrong news cycle, and is lost in the whirlwind about the Obama passport file fiasco.

You know, with Clinton in the White House, I can almost understand some Arabs believing we were led by the great satan.
We were, and are, being led along the wrong path by God hating liberals.
You can trust me on this, since it's impossible to study terrorism without talking to Arabs: the Clinton WH was the NUMBER ONE argument they gave me as proof of how immoral, decadent and evil this whole country is. They all knew ALL of the scandals. They believe our leader's behavior reflects our OWN behavior. I made many tedious arguments in defense of mainstream America...tedious because there many, many, MANY arguments. I like to believe I changed some hearts and minds...or maybe they just started deciding not to go there when discussing the morality of the average American with me.
Thank you. We may never know the harm done by some of our “leaders”. We are definitely in need of a cleansing. With God’s grace, we may be on the right path now. Seems like the chickens ARE coming home to roost.
Yes. Add Kosovo, the near destruction of out military, the non-response to attacks and the total, life wating FUBAR that was Somalia to that. A lot of them are Clinton's chickens.
