Rep. Murtha Backs Hillary, Calls for Her to Pull Out by Scott Ott for ScrappleFace · 8 Comments
(2008-03-19) Rep. John Murtha, D-PA, the former Marine and outspoken advocate of a U.S. pull-out from Iraq, today threw his credibility and support behind the presidential candidacy of Sen. Hillary Clinton, as he called on her to withdrawal from the race for the White House for the good of her campaign workers and the country.
The veteran Congressman said he has nothing but respect for his fellow Democrat and has her best interest at heart when he says she should immediately withdrawal.
This battle is draining resources, wearing out campaign staff and volunteers, and making Hillary Clinton a primary target for the radical Republicans, said Rep. Murtha during a news conference that left him in tears. Her presence in the race is just exacerbating tensions. She has become a catalyst for chaos. Hillary has done everything thats been asked of her. Its time to bring her home.
The Pennsylvania lawmaker said the fight for the Democrat nomination is a quagmire, since neither candidate can capture enough delegates between now and the convention to win it.
The Clinton campaign is not going as advertised, Rep. Murtha added. Its a flawed strategy wrapped in illusion. The future of our country is at risk. We cannot continue on the present course.

Huma won’t like that!
Quick, redeploy to Oky!
Murtha, when pressed for details, suggested Hillary Clinton should consider moving her campaign headquarters to Okinawa.
Mental meltdown - sad fate for an ex-marine. Must have started years ago and gotten progressively worse.
Scrappleface - gotcha.
Not that I support Hillary, on the contrary, I want to see her and Obama fight it out to the end, and split the Dems into pieces. McCain isn't my favorite either, but I figure our choice this year is how fast do we want the country to slide? Besides, the real power is in the Congress anyway, and Republicans would be better off working to regain majority in the Congress, both houses, and let the Presidency sort itself out.
“Any doubt that this guy has lost his marbles? He supports Hillary, and asks her to drop out of the race. Support like that is no support at all...”
Lost his marbles! Maybe, but I think he has been very consistent. He says he supports the troops but wants them to surrender immediately. So when he says he supports Clinton but wants her to give up the race it sounds pretty consistent to me.

LOL! The title had me going for a second or two. LOL!
The earmark pig is wallowing in his own excrement.
I bet Hillary is just jumping up and down over this old fools support. ROFLMAO!!!
Can any one seriously look at this guy and not see alcoholic written all over his face.
Oh Man! It’s Scrappleface and I fell for it.DAMN!!
I think it's a western-Pennsylvania thing. I had to move to Louisiana to get sober.
How can one get sober in Louisiana. LOL!
