if you don’t like the car, don’t buy it.
LOL! I’m waiting for the hydrogen fuel cell cars. :)
Hubby says I’ll be waiting a long time. I hope not.
I doubt that the Hybrid would save me $6600 in gas over the 5 years that it'd take me to pay for it.
Great read!! And an equally great chuckle. Batteries are not yet safe...Valence Technologies is working on a safer Lithium phosphate battery but I don’t believe they are ready for hybrid use yet. (but I am watcging their stock ;-)
LOL! I Love it!
You sound alittle angry brother, try to relax. Yes they are idiots, for sure. You have to remember it is all about feeeeeeeelings with these people. Ther eisn’t much thought put into things, just easily and gently give them thr truth, it works much better than yelling and attitude, trust me. The hard core left will be vitriolic and hate you anyway.
For me, the price is the determining factor. For what I drive, see the tagline.
(HINT: it was built in 1969 and is shaped like an insect)
I WANT A TURBO DIESEL MUSTANG!!!!......
At today's (and tomorrow's and next week's) gas prices it might pay for itself in a couple of months!...............
And you being an ER nurse, I know you already understand the intricacies that resuce personnel have to deal with as they approach the mangled mess of a hybrid.
You just can’t grab the jaws-of-life and start ripping into one of these buggers.
But greenies don’t care. As long as they feel good....
Well, gosh, since version 1.0 is not absolutely perfect, we should scrap the entire thing. Every worthwhile technological advance sprung fully developed from its maker. No improvements have ever been necessary to any useful technology.
If everyone thought like you, we’d still be walking everywhere - even a horse has to be broken before you can ride it.
Good one Gunner. I’ve read the facts before, and this is right on spot. I’d s’pose you might have some experience with this in the E.R. as well.
at $3.50 per gallon, you would have to drive more than 65,975 miles to get past the break even point. That is assuming 35 mpg with the standard Honda.
And don’t even suggest that the EMT’s on the scene use the Jaws of Life to cut you out of the wreck.
My point exactly in # 11.

LOL but very true.
Oh yeah? Well, I’ve got a 400 HP 28 MPG Mustang! :)
Great piece, though. I’ve often wondered about those big batteries and how often they have to be replaced.
Thanks for the update!
VRRRRROOOOOM!!!
You missed the point of the article, which is about SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY. He brings up some very good points. These cars are like the fluorescent lightbulb craze; their toxic nature makes their solution more harmful than the “problem” they claim to solve!
