Barack Obama is preparing to deliver a major address Tuesday on race, politics and unifying the country after being hounded by questions about his relationship to a pastor whose sermons have been laced with anti-American invective.
In a speech whose religious significance could compare to one given in December by former GOP presidential hopeful and Mormon Mitt Romney, Obama may be forced to explain the philosophy of the 8,000-strong Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, where the Democratic presidential candidate has been a congregant for 20 years.
In announcing the morning address, to be delivered in Philadelphia, Obama would not say specifically what he will discuss, but suggested he wants to cool down the atmosphere after incendiary remarks by his pastor, retired Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr., blanketed the airwaves over the past week.

“we do not need to recite the litany or racial injustices that happened in this country..”
SO why not celebrate the progress we made instead?
The mask is slipping - so much for his being POST-racial or whatever the progressives are calling this line of bs these days
What?? You mean Newsmax was right about O being at the infamous service??

Thank you for your honesty. Wright has set back race relations by fifty years and Obamalama is his disciple. This goes to the heart of who Obama really is and what he really thinks. I know in my heart he does not represent you or multitudes of others but his hate filled rhetoric has now placed in the heart of every American who has heard his rants a genuine concern and fear of Obama and what "CHANGE" he really wants to make and where he really wants to take America...
For Obama not to disassociate himself and his family TOTALLY from Wright and his racist so-called "church" speaks volumes more than his little speech.
One more thing; regarding Katrina, the people of NO were warned to leave, and given ample opportunity to leave BUT mayor Nagain totally dropped the ball for those who did not have to means to leave by leaving the school buses and other public transportation in the lots to get flooded. Many stayed, for whatever reason of their own accord and when the rains descended and the floods finally came... "save me," "save me", bad BUSH, racist BUSH. The fact of the matter is, many people of all races that stayed in NO until it was too late made their own bed and once they had to lay in it, decided they wanted to abdicate their own PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY and blame someone else.
Drudge has the entire text of the speech posted
A lot of what was on there has been removed — the whole site has been whitewashed (excuse the word). This remains — for now.
Yep, he's a politician. He will do anything to get to the position he wants; even if it takes insulting and demeaning the grandmother who raised him.
REPARATIONS!
At least he’s not “ridin’ dirty”
Have the fathers stay home and there will be no problems in the schools.
we was treated so bad we was treated so bad we was treated so bad....and we will never get over it.
Uh oh. He waltzed through the problem of school inequality without including the problem of “acting white if a black child reads a book”.
If this man becomes POTUS, this country is in real trouble.
blacks were not allowed private property?
except sweetheart deals from Whitey developers like Rezco
No he cannot disown his racist church, which is STILL racist, the new pastor is defending Wright, as is the congregation.
His mother cringed at passing Black men on the street?
####
His grandmother! Who apparently preferred that her daughter marry the father of her baby, rather than do what modern feminists and NARAL would have recommended.
He expresses sorrow for poor people (Note to Obama— your wife wants blacks to stay in underpaying jobs)
