The thunderous applause was still ringing in his ears when the state's new governor, David Paterson, told the Daily News that he and his wife had extramarital affairs.
In a stunning revelation, both Paterson, 53, and his wife, Michelle, 46, acknowledged in a joint interview they each had intimate relationships with others during a rocky period in their marriage several years ago.
In the course of several interviews in the past few days, Paterson said he maintained a relationship for two or three years with "a woman other than my wife," beginning in 1999.

At least they’re not evil Republican hypocrites! (sarcasm)
If there was a championship for being tiresome, the Democrats would have retired the diamond-studded gold belt a long time ago.

I guess he fits right in with the rest of the crowd in the tri-state area.

I never heard about this until this moment, but just yesterday I think I referred to Paterson somewhere on FR as “Client No. 8”

I can’t say I give him props for candor, considering the circumstances through which he became Governor: he’s just beating the Press to the punch and cutting them off at the pass, to mix metaphors.

New York democrat voters sure know how to pick ‘em, eh?
Question. Does NYgov run for office with a running mate, or are they elected separately?

Glad they worked it out. Not only for the kids, but they acted like adults, sought counseling (when needed) and worked through a tough time in their marriage.
Or, maybe they stayed together for power like the clintons.

“Albany. It’s Albany.”
I know, I’ve been there.
I like to go to Lombardo’s on Madison Ave there. Nice old fashioned Italian.

I’m not sure extramarital affairs are what the marraige counselor had in mind. Sounds like this marraige was in worse shape than the counselor thought.

It sounds like this governor's probably got a lot of skeletons ready to come tumbling out as well but that's good since he won't much time to push his radical liberal agenda anymore then the last one did.

Wouldn't it have been a bit more "candid" to have mentioned it before taking the oath of office? Sheesh! Who advises these putzes!

Democrat values - its just about sex. David Paterson will be forgiven because A) he's a minority, B) he's a liberal and C) every one does it. Its time to move on.

Interesting, the affairs began in 1999 and in 2003 or so, N.Y. State Senate Ldr. Paterson directs a million dollars via legislation, over to the wife’s employer and voila, she’s a lobbyist.
