What should have been a good week for Barack Obama has turned into one of the worst of his campaign.
Despite winning the Mississippi primary and increasing his lead in convention delegates, he was thrown off stride by dealings with a former fundraiser and inflammatory remarks by his one-time pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, that are getting wide play on YouTube and TV including "Not God Bless America. God Damn America."
Obama worked hard Friday night on cable television news programs, trying to distance himself from Wright's remarks. On Fox he called them "completely unacceptable and inexcusable."
Today, campaigning in Plainfield, Ind., he said Wright never made incendiary statements in his presence.
"But if all I knew was those statements that I saw on television, I would be shocked," he said.
ABC News political consultant Mark Halperin, also of Time Magazine, said Obama had to go on the offensive, considering how hard his campaign was hit by the negative coverage.
"It was possible that this controversy was going to engulf Obama's candidacy," Halperin said. "He had to speak out after what had been several days of very toxic and very dangerous coverage for his candidacy." Obama also acknowledged in Chicago newspaper interviews that indicted businessman Tony Rezko raised more money for his past political campaigns than was previously known. Rezko had also advised him on buying a home.

How do you know a video is coming out showing Obama in the church during one of Wright’s rants? Where did you hear or read that? If it is true and a video does come out, that WILL be the end of Obama. Otherwise, he will just get away with his denial that he was present during any such rants.

Bullcrap!...He’s going down! There is no way in hell someone like this is going to sit in the white house who goes to a church for 20 years where a so called minister preaches such hatred of whites! Is it because he’s a black socialist with a big grin that he gets a pass? And then Donna Brazile says its an opportunity to show his mettle as a campaigner?....What the hell is she smoking?

But, frankly, I don’t care if he was in the pew that particular day or not. The democrats would love to make this about a single event and specific statements.... arguing that Wright could have been pointing at anyone, whether the microphone was working or not, Obama was off in a sanctuary at the moment yadada yadda.
The point is, this is what Wright is, and has been, for the entire 20 years Obama and Michelle were members of that church. They knew it. They were tight with him. They socialized with the people jumping up and cheering and stiomping in gleeful frenzy over Wright’s racism, anti-American hate, and blasphemy. These are the friends and associates they chose, and chose to expose their children to from birth. That’s why they belonged. Simple as that.
Further damaging info about Obama and his loony pastor will not come out until Monday. You know how news cycles work. Rest assured, more will be revealed.
Ain’t that the truth. Who would ever have thought we would have only Obama, Hillary or McCain offered as presidential candidates of the wonderful United States of America.
I think it is time we woke up and realized we are in a war to save this country.
And we need fighters not complainers. Complainers have done nothing to give us better than this for the last 8 years.
We have nothing of what we want in a president, but we have to choose between these 3. We will have to band together to gain any of what many of us chose to throw away.
Thank you freepers for teaching the GOP a lesson. Have you noticed that the GOP does not even realize you are gone? And, I will bet they will not be knocking on your door to save the party. They won. They ran you out of the party and now they can offer up a McCain, or someone even more liberal.
True enough. But let's imagine that it weren't known. Anyone with a brain knows that U-Tube is out there and that anything embarrassing about a candidate will show up on it. Utube is tailor made for embarrassing "gotcha" moments, such as the infamous "macaca" comment. Yet Obama and his wife had the effrontery to run for President thinking that their pastor and his church would be a non-issue.
Well, Michelle and Obama Hussein are having their own "macaca" moment! How could they have not known this was coming? Obama's whole campaign smacks of effrontery. A two-term state senator with 1/2 a term as a U.S. Senrator thinks he's fit to be President? There's something sociopathic behind Obama's smooth demeanor. (Of course, with the wife it's out in the open.)

and here in nashville we even have Kurdish thugs
but the black community has decimated itself save for the brave few who are pilloried for taking a stand......Cosby...Peterson etc

Right--Teddy Kennedy, that paragon of virtue who let a young woman drown in his car--he's now going to cast moral aspersions on Obama just because Obama's preacher is an America-hating Black Supremacist? In the party that has no shame, all decisions are based upon their political expediency to the decision-maker.
The following criteria have no influence whatsoever on how democrat politicians reach decisions:
1. Whether they are being morally correct.
2. Whether they are being hypocritical.
3. Whether their decision is good for the country.
4. Whether it actually helps the weakest among us, particularly the aged, the infirm and the unborn.
5. Whether it is fair.
6. Whether what they will say is true.
