KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — Police say a suicide bomber has hit an armored vehicle near Kabul’s airport. The blast appears to have caused some casualties.
Several other private vehicles were damaged in the attack early Thursday, said Mohammad Aslam, a police official. It was not immediately clear who was targeted in the bombing.
An Associated Press reporter at the scene says the blast has caused casualties.

The suicide bomber targeted an armoured vehicle during rush hour, The Associated Press reports, quoting Afghan police. ARTICLE SNIPPET: “KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — A suicide car bomber struck an armored vehicle carrying U.S. soldiers near the Kabul airport Thursday, killing six Afghan civilians, officials said.
None of the four American troops in the targeted vehicle appeared to be badly wounded, an Associated Press photographer at the scene said. A U.S. spokesman, Army Lt. Col. David Johnson, said the vehicle that was struck had come from the U.S. military base in Kabul, Camp Eggers, but he had no other immediate details.”
