Dr. Laura Schlessinger has never been one to shrink from controversy, and she leaped headlong into one on Monday when she said that if a husband cheats, his wife may share some of the blame.
When the wife does not focus in on the needs and the feelings, sexually, personally, to make him feel like a man, to make him feel like a success, to make him feel like her hero, hes very susceptible to the charm of some other woman making him feel what he needs, the popular psychologist and radio personality said.
More commonly known as just Dr. Laura, Schlessinger made the remarks while participating in one of several panel discussions on TODAY dealing with the breaking news that New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer had been connected to a high-priced prostitution ring.

[True dat, potlatch!]
Double DAT, lol.
I don’t listen to her much any more; maybe 1/2 hour per week. I simply overlook the situations when she misses the point of a particular call. I’m sure there are time pressures and she gets rushed by upcoming breaks in the show. I don’t think she is malicious and I do believe she wants only what is best for women and their marriages/relationships.
But are you always ready and willing when he wants it?
L
And she knows nothing about women or what women need...
I'd like to compliment you on your mature and insightful contribution.
That's embarrassing but first I mis-post and then I hurriedly misread the real post to me!! I'm sure you saw what I misread, lol.
Some men look better with long hair, too.
&&&
Sad. Did some woman tell you that? It’s not true.
On women, I disagree....but then again, it could be just the shows I’ve heard. I really think she’s clueless about female sexuality...what she says is what men want to hear, not what is true of how females work.
Lol, I’ve been sick, give me some slack!
Read the rest of my posts, they get even better (and I already know you’re attitude about the evil sex) ;)
Sexual Addiction is much more prevalent in America than many realize....Bill Clinton is a classic example.
Look at the internet, and at the thousands of “escorts” that are there, they wouldn’t be there in such numbers if there weren’t a huge client base to support them.
But thats only the tip of the iceberg.
I’m sorry that you were a victim of this terrible disease.
Hey!
All the romance hunks have long hair!
Women LOVE long haired guys....think Adrian Paul, Brendan Fraser, Attila the Hun (the Gerard Butler version)....
I completely agree with that (stopping the blame on men) but our society is on the blame men (esp the hetero, non minority men) kick. IMO.
I do understand women or men who have issues with sex, whatever those may be, but blaming the other person is silly. I’m surprised by all the lack of sexual satisfaction I’m reading and even discussing in real life. I’m married, been out of the dating world for over 18 years so maybe it’s different now. However, being married, it’s so easy to communicate your needs to your sexual needs, and all the other needs, to one’s spouse.
If the husband isn’t doing enough around the house, just tell him. And vice versa. Granted, I don’t do yard work at all, don’t do anything with the cars, and other house things and that’s the way it works well for us. We share tons of house chores but I don’t expect him to clean the bathroom when I refuse to do yard work.
It was easier when I wasn’t working as much, and especially when I wasn’t working outside the home. I did most (except the yard work, shoveling snow, car stuff cos those were his jobs)of the household chores and I should - he was out working, providing the paycheck needed for this family.
Now that I have to work outside the home more, we split more chores. It’s not that hard.
And the whole sex thing, men are really easy to please in that regard imo. And they want to please also.
"WELL, IF YOU DON'T KNOW, I'M NOT GOING TO EXPLAIN IT TO YOU!!!"
Anyone here heard that?
Would a map and a road flair help?
Sorry, I missed this post in the deluge of pings!
I always thought [from what I heard] that she had sensible views and your post does verify that she isn’t a prude and scolds both men and women.
“So, I offer advice (which is get the heck out if you are miserable and there aren’t kids). And yes, girls like sex too....”
Huzzah!
I’ll swear on a Bible, I have NEVER heard her scold a man about sex, ever.
Me?
No, never...not once!
Then again I had a run in w a most instructive red head when I was a young lad....
She is far from clueless about female sexuality. Read her "Husbands" and "Marriage" books. Most men will do anything their wives want sexually, but she does point out that women should not expect men to read their minds. Women need to open their mouths and ask for what they want. Most men want to know what does and doesn't work.
Man there are some screwed up people on this forum. I don't mean you, but I've been reading the comments on here and I am driven to get down on my knees and thank God himself that he sent Mrs L my way.
Quite often she'll give me 'that look' and say "just lay back honey. I can tell you really need this."
I will love that woman till the day I die....
