Last time I checked, there was only a small majority on the side of resignation.

I voted apologize and move on. If Republicans have to put up with Larry Craig, why shouldn’t Dems have to live with Elliot.
Isn’t it a just horrible that these politicians, on both sides of the aisle, drag their spouses to the podium to apologize for a sex scandals?

Larry Craig has denied the charges, and it is essentially a he-said he-said situation. Spitzer knowingly engaged in multiple felonies, including most seriously "structuring" by way of his intentional attempt to conceal the money transfers.
The longer both Spitzer and Hil delay the inevitable, and refuse to go away, the better.
In both cases, by the way, they’re blocking moves up by black men. That won’t do the Dems a lot of good in November if they both stick around.
The result of this poll is what the Governor and his staff are looking at tonight. 44% “approval” ‘aint bad, given that he went far lower than that during the licenses-for-illegals brouhaha, and survived. I predict he will NOT resign.
We’re better off keeping him crippled in office so we can polish him off in 2010. If Paterson replaces him, it may be a decade or longer before we can put a Republican back in Albany.
The emperors club apparently catered to people in power and provided financial dealings as well as hookers.
There could be more fallout ahead.
