Like any other change it will take time to get used to. I assume you did it for a reason. Besides, if I can handle the switch from Office 2003 to Office 2007 then this’ll be a snap.

Can someone give me a hand as I don't have eyes good enough to go through 600 replies here. I finally found "search" and don't see any "poster" option. I typed in my own name and it didn't work.
How do we look up a poster as we did before? Thanks,
Leni

Someone else has probably mentioned this, but I wish we could see the page views for each thread again.

Meaning that if you want to search a specific user’s posts, you need to find a post of theirs on the forum first in order to do so. It would be nice to still have a way to do it from the search function rather than such a clunky method of having to first locate a post from the user and then click to see their posts.
To: John Robinson
The tabs are great.
The search need work?
I don't like the color...it's not girl friendly.
My tag doesn't fit in the tagline. Can you please expand it a little???
Calling an illegal alien an "undocumented immigrant" is like calling a drug dealer an "unlicensed pharmacist"

Your graphic shows smaller print.
On my screen the font is huge and the wording runs together.
Yours shows: Topics Post
Mine shows: TopicsPost
[The font is so big in the sidebar that words run together and overlap in some area.]
The font size NOW appears to be related to browser settings. It used to be set by the FR server.
The problem with font size being browser-dependent is that reducing the sidebar fonts also reduces the forum text. I want larger font headlines in the forum, but not in the sidebar. The old system allowed that. Apparently, the new system does not.
The sidebar font size problem seems to be associated with IE but not with Firefox. I happen to use an IE based browers for FR.

Great request noconvert! If we could search our comments and or mail by date for example, that would be great!
At least have a button to go the beginning or end of our comments if a search is too much. It takes FOREVER to find the comments from say 6 months ago.
What about a page listing--> 1 2 3 ....99 to click on? So we could at least get to the middle of them or end....that would be very helpful...

Honestly, I think the way you had search before with the dropdowns poster, title, etc. was more effective and very much easier to navigate. I know I and many others use the search function constantly, both to catch up with FRiends and to search for article titles. No kidding.

EXTREMELY hard to read the articles when the Sidebar looks Ghostly!!! Not a happy camper. you described it exactly. Ghostly is the right word! another unhappy camper!

Q:How many people does it take to change a light bulb in Austin? A: 10. One to change the lightbulb and 9 to tell you how cool the old one used to be, and 1/4 million old hippies telling you that it must be replaced with a compact fluorescent bulb.

I think it looks good, but Free Republic should be in larger letters. If you are using Internet Explorer, go to the "View" option on the pot bar, down to "Text size" and set to your preference.
