THE RIGHT TO GOVERNMENT EDUCATION
NEALZ NUZE ^ | 5 March 2008 | NEAL BOORTZ

Let me set the stage for this story ... Karina Acosta lived in Roswell, New Mexico. She is 18-years-old. She is pregnant. She is, also, an illegal alien. That last fact shouldn't be too surprising ... considering the fact that at least 44% of the total population of Roswell is Hispanic. At Karina's high school, an estimated 90% of students are Hispanic and 40% are believed to be illegal. We, of course, are paying for them.

Driving to high school one morning, Karina was stopped by a Roswell policeman because she was blocking a fire lane. She was also driving without a license. Then the policeman, Charlie Corn, committed the cardinal sin ... he asked Karina for her proof of legal U.S. residency. She had none. He even gave her days to produce her proof of legal residency. She still had none, so she was taken to a juvenile detention center. Now Karina is gestating in Mexico.

http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2008-03-04-teen-deported_N.htm?csp=34

The fact that Karina is back home certainly doesn't mean the town and the school didn't put up a fight. Students and parents protested Karina's treatment, complaining that it was racist and unfair (thus illustrating the quality of education in Roswell, New Mexico).

The protestors said that this is worrisome because government schools are supposed to be safe havens for illegal immigrants. Even though these protesters probably couldn't tell you the names of their two U.S. Senators, they darned sure were familiar with a 1982 Supreme Court ruling that guarantees children who are in the U.S. illegally the "right" to a government education.

Jennifer Moore, who teaches international, human rights and refugee law at the University of New Mexico says that this incident has made a "mockery" of students' "right" to education. She then explains that these government schools are the "very place where they have the greatest chance at getting the skills they need to participate in this society that they are living in" ... isn't that a bunch of hogwash? Here we have a university professor ..or assistant professor .. or instructor .. or whatever .. telling us essentially that every child in the world has some sort of a legally enforceable "right" to an education in the United States; all they have to do is get here one way or another, legally or illegally, to exercise their "right." The Rev. Juan Montoya of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church says, "It's not just about Karina. Karina is just one of many ... I know people who have been picked up — didn't break a law, they didn't pass a stop sign, they didn't do anything." Didn't break the law? What the hell is this idiot talking about? Didn't she break the law by entering this country illegally? Isn't she breaking the law every single day she stays here? And, not to get too picky here, didn't Karina break the law by blocking a fire lane and driving without a driver's license?

The illegal immigration problem sure has a way of bringing out the idiot in so many people.

Just wondering if one of those little green men got loose from the space ship.

She has broken two laws, that we know of. These type of supporters for karina are the ones who look to hussein obama as the a potential potus. Policies, laws etc. are of no concern, it is how you feel in the moment....(sarc)

Students and teachers aside:
Out here they impound the car (evil car - no driver's license on board) for thirty days and let the unlicensed, illegal, driver go home.

After 30 days it costs over a grand to get your car back, so it goes to the wrecker.

When court comes around "he went back to mexico"...

Hey, that’s exactly how “liberals” judge any policy -

not whether it will work or not,
not whether it will cause long term misery,

but by how it makes them feeeeeel in the moment. Is it “nice” or “mean” to do this?

Right. Came from Spain. The Mexicans all hate the native Indians and kill them. They were there long before the Spanish and French came in. They need to pack up and move back to Madrid.

Exactly. Last time I looked Spain was still part of Europe. They just forget history if it interferes or blocks their precious victim status.

If she or any of her family work, they are breaking the law for tax evasion. Also, I personally would never try driving without a license. Nope!

This whole situation is going beyond the pale. Is there now a separate, more rigorous set of laws and rules for citizens of the U.S.???? When do we (the ones observing the rules and laws) get to protest the inequity?

I would report to Mexico City that the invasion is proceeding successfully. California is for all intents and purposes defeated, and invasion forces are well entrenched to the Canadian border. Continuing economic warfare will bring other areas to a negotiated settlement in the worst case. In the best case we will be negotiating with ourselves. In other words. its a cake walk.

And this assertion is based on what, exactly?
