Clinton: ‘Be careful what you wish for, Rush’ By Klaus Marre Posted: 03/05/08 09:30 AM [ET]

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (N.Y.), buoyed by important victories in the Democratic primaries in Texas, Ohio and Rhode Island, on Wednesday offered some words of warning to conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh, who had urged Republicans to vote for her as the presumptively easier Democrat to beat.

“Be careful what you wish for, Rush,” Clinton said on Fox News.

For the second time during this campaign season, the former first lady survived what many viewed as a potential knockout punch from frontrunning Sen. Barack Obama (Ill.). While Obama maintains a significant delegate lead, he was unable to seal the nominations Tuesday night, having to concede another two populous states to Clinton.

“By getting the most delegates, by having won twice as many states, by having a lead in the popular vote we feel as if we are on pace to get the nomination,” Obama said Wednesday morning in an appearance on the same network. “And it will take a little longer than would be true if we weren’t running against a Clinton, but we’re still going to end up getting it.”

However, instead of being able to focus on Sen. John McCain (Ariz.), the newly crowned Republican nominee, Obama must now continue to expend his considerable resources on the Democratic primary.

The Clinton campaign is seeking to use the breathing room the former first lady was given in polling places in Texas, Ohio and Rhode Island to map out its “path to the presidency,” as a memo from strategists Harold Ickes and Mark Penn was labeled.

In the document, the Clinton team says it is “time for a second look” on the race and the candidates and argued that the “momentum has swung

I don’t think either will take second fiddle because it effectively ruins the chances for first fiddle for at least 8 years.

McCain will not let them roll over him , he is a tenacious fighter .

Unfortunately, McCain's tenacity is only leveraged against conservatives. When it comes to his Democrat masters, nothing gets between him and them.

Maybe we’ll be listening to tap dancing, but no apology!

Was listening earlier. Rush is all upset that the Dem's were voting in our primarys in Iowa and NH, and are now angry at us for voting in their primarys. Question for Rush... How are the Dem's turning out in record numbers ever since the Iowa caucuses and still finding enough people to vote for McCain in the Republican races?

I think HE may be the one picking a running mate, not her. I am not convinced she will win at all.

Hillary has already hinted at sharing the ticket with Barry - with her on top, of course.

Eight sixteen (remember 8 yrs of Bubba) years of the ‘Toons and then eight years of Obama, after he serves as her VP.

Never thought I’d find myself agreeing with anything the Witch said, but here I do.

I think this was a harebrained idea on Rush’s part and on the part of anyone who took his advice.

It scares the begeesus out of me to think of her as the nominee because of 2 main facts:

1) The Clintons have a voter fraud machine unmatched in the history of the world.

2) There is just no real enthusiasm for McCain among most of us who normally vote GOP. (And here in Rat-infested MD, a vote for the GOP nominee is meaningless anyway.)

McCain can use the law he created McCain-Feingold to censor any kind of political speech be it on talk radio or the internet or anywhere. McCain or Hillary/Obama can shut down FReerepublic , redstate.com, any blog on the internet, or any talk radio show including Rush limbaugh, proof from Cnet.com: : http://www.news.com/The-coming-crackdown-on-blogging/2008-1028_3-5597079.html

"The coming crackdown on blogging...Bradley Smith says that the freewheeling days of political bogging and online punditry are over.....CNET News.com spoke with Smith about the Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act of 2002, better known as the McCain-Feingold law, and its forthcoming extrusion onto the Internet."

With just 2 pieces of legislation McCain-Feingold and McCain-Kennedy, MccAin has caused more damage to the U.S. , to freedom, to human rights, to our U.S. sovereignty, to the constitution , to freedom of speech than ANYONE. A future president can even use McCain-feingold to crack down on blogging : http://www.news.com/The-coming-crackdown-on-blogging/2008-1028_3-5597079.html

I am bracing for a Hillary-Bill Presidency.

Sadly, so am I. And once they are in there again they will set up all sorts of trojan horses so that they will maintain de facto power for life.

...it’s likely the superdelegates will say “let’s have a compromise ticket with BOTH candidates on the ticket” and make that a condition for each candidate to get the other candidate’s superdelegates.

I think that's exactly what will happen after the PA primary April 22nd. I don't think this contest will go on to the convention at all.

I like Rush, but he is going to pay for this.

He really disappointed me in 1996 when he dropped his tv show RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CAMPAIGN.

Now, we will see a joint ticket on the Democratic side, thanks to his Texas “don’t do what is morally right, just go out and tip the scales on the Democratic primary” strategy.

When that joint ticket takes the Presidency in November, Rush will be marginalized on radio, just as he was on tv in 1996.

You are an entertainer, Rush, but NO POLITICAL STRATEGIST.

Well, believe me, he did. Over and over.

Rush just has an awful record on the Witch. It’s the one subject he consistently goofs on.

I sympathized with Rush’s position, but my feeling was “put a stake in this bitch’s heart once and for all.” If you mess with the tiger’s tail, you’re gonna get eaten.

Obama would be far easier to beat in a general election matchup.

Newbie takes the center square to block, gets it right in the fourth post. Nice job.

Neither is going to get the magic number of 2024 and it will come down to the battle between the super-delegates. It’s exactly what I want to happen.

It is going to happen, but it will be just a rubber stamp of who got the most thru the ballot box, which will be Obama. The only danger for Obama is that some major scandal arises about him. Otherwise the super delegates will confirm Obama rather than risk the political suicide of the party.

"Hillary may be the one person in America today, who hard-core conservatives hate more than they hate McCain. Rush might be on the right track."

This, in a nutshell, is exactly why Rush is wrong.

That "hate" does not transfer into wanting to vote for McCrisis.

Thus on the surface, it appears Rush is making an amateur's mistake -- Rush himself is nearly blinded by his "hate" of McCrisis, as he has led himself to believe that McCain was willing to subvert the Constitution with McCain-Feingold to specifically restrain Rush, in payback for 2000 South Carolina (and Rush says he "never gets involved in primaries". bull*******s**t. This isn't my first rodeo either, Rusty.)

But none of that -- NONE OF THAT -- validates reviving Madame Cankles nearly-dead campaign; therefore, a rational FReeper can only conclude that Rush, having f'd up the GOP primary race royally, now is seeking solely to monetize the situation to his best outcome, namely, Hillary in the White House.

And so Rush gets to do his shitty Bill Clinton imitation for the next four years; Paul Shanklin barely has to change his soundtracks for the next four years; and the rest of us FReepers are stuck with the most destructive president of our lifetimes.

Thanks, Rush -- it's obvious you don't have any children, and equally obvious why you never had any.
