GOAL Requests Massachusetts Attorney General to Intervene in Illegal Licensing Activities
On Monday, March 3, 2008 Gun Owners' Action League took the next step in our attempt to hold the state accountable for its firearm licensing system. As our members know, GOAL has been seeking the Patrick's administration's assistance in enforcing the firearm licensing laws as they pertain to the illegal actions of local licensing agents. Unfortunately this administration has expressed little interest in protecting the civil rights of lawful citizens.
GOAL has also sought to rectify the problems by asking the Massachusetts Inspector General's Office to investigate these illegal activities and to take action against rogue agents. Although that office did respond to our first request in ruling against Cambridge regarding their illegal overcharging for licenses, the Inspector General's Office declined to conduct any action to ensure the return of the overage to the citizens. In a further letter from the Inspector General's Office concerning more towns violating the fee laws, their office suggested that they were not interested in any further actions. In fact, the letter instructed GOAL to use the previous letter to settle any further problems with other towns.
"It is frankly unconscionable that GOAL has to expend this much effort in an attempt to get the state to adhere to the very laws they created," said Jim Wallace Executive Director of GOAL. "For a state that is supposedly so concerned with firearm licensing, how do they expect to maintain any credibility when the very agents that are empowered to determine our 'suitability' are themselves violating the firearm laws."
The next step for GOAL is to ask the Massachusetts Attorney General's office to investigate the matter and intervene on behalf of the lawful citizens of the Commonwealth. Click here to view .pdf version of the letter to the Massachusetts Attorney General.

The left does whatever it damned well pleases, and doesn’t care about the laws.
Someone needs to askHussein if he supports this move.
Governor Teletubbie already strong armed the legislature into violating the law by not allowing the citizens to vote on the Gay marriage issue in spite of the 70000 + signatures collected. The Legislature violated the law and so did the Governor. The Gay Gestapo wins again. Screw the citizens.
When you vote for an intellectual midget to be your governor, you run the risk of electing one.
The Hugo Chavez of Massazuela!..............
the sad fact about this state is we keep on electing this trash. I was talking to a fellow businessman the other day; he was crying about taxes and insurance laws. When I mentioned we could change these aspects of life in the people’s republic of Massachusetts by voting republican, he blasted me saying he would never vote for one of those crooks.
My lower jaw hit the floor.
All of Massachusetts politics is truly what may be coming the entire country’s way soon with the weak Massachusetts Republican Party along with conservatism barely in existence for most of the last five decades and counting! Patrick is just the latest chapter of the ongoing problem known as Massachusetts politics!
I beleive that 3 judges wanted homsoexual marriage leagalized (5 judge panel, IIRC). The judges ordered the MA state legislature to write a law legalizing homosexual marriage (it is not the role of the courts to order the legislature around). The state legislature then wrote the law, and -- as you say -- the citizens tried to vote on a ban, and the governor strong-armed the legislature into ignoring the will of the people.
It's a scary state. There is no rule of law here, and the people's opinions do not matter. The political elite are the masters. We are the slaves. And we like it that way.
With Kennedy and Kerry, it was Massatwoshits.
Now they’ve added Gov. Patrick it has become Massathreeshits.
To this toxic mix — the nation is on the verge of electing an Obama or Clinton!
How can America have gone so stupid so quickly?
Coupe Deval is very busy today paroling a guy who shot a guy in the face and killed him because he said the guy was “Jive Talking”.

Unionized public education.
I went through the llocal licensing authority troubles...two false accusations(one brought by the CLEO);two “not guilty”s ;and the Judge STILL would not grant my judicial review petition. So I moved to NH. THat state is “bluer “ than days past;but at least they have a “single standard of law “ approach to licensing vs the “interpreted by the issuing sutority “ of the Commonwealth of Massghanistan”.
Vote Libertarian.....for a Change.
Didn’t help that Margaret Marshall Supreme Court Chief Justice)has been a keynote speaker for GLAAD several times and is a good friend of the Attorney who represented the lesbian couple whom I believe already “got divorced”.
I hope you told that A**hat to quit whining then, he’s getting exactly what he deserves.
I believe you’re right....
Teacher’s Unions and “Public Education” have gone a long way toward reducing intelligence to the lowest common denominator...
We’re experiencing that in Kalifornicate also....
Strange — the nicest and brightest youngsters I’ve come into contact with recently — are from families who Home School or use private/parochial schools.....
My conversation with a relative who home schooled her 4 children, ranging in current ages from 10 to 21 was an eyeopener...
The time, effort and sacrifice was considerable, the rewards - priceless.
