Gorn, an 14th level Wizard and my first long term character, attempts a resurrection spell .... and fails. Thanks for the game, the fun and something to do that does not lead to a kid getting arrested or dead.

No deaththrow? Not even with a 1 on the hundred sided dice.

Lots of us walked into
Against the Giants slightly goofy boys and walked out of the Underdark hardcore gaming nerds.
Thanks, E. Gary Gygax. I'll open a Dr. Pepper and shake my dice box tonight in your memory.

To be honest, I didn’t play D&D all the much, but his vision spawned a whole industry of dice, card and eventually computer games. For example, World of Warcraf for the most part, still relies on “dice throws.”
He was a pioneer and kept a lot of us entertained over the years.

I just now realized how much better a game of D&D was for me and my friends versus the game consoles of today.

This is sad news for anyone that has once yelled “C’mon natual 20!” when rolling a funny looking dice.
