According to this endorsement: Basically, Huck is wrong on everything, but McCain is old and repubs need to abandon everything Reagan. They see to think Huck will practice some kind of "nambie pambie" republicanism, while McCain would be more like reagan.

I disagree strongly with them, in that I think Huck is on “the RIGHT side of abortion, gay rights and other key issues". Are they idiots? Or are they spinning? To me, Huck is closer to Reagan than McClame.

The newspaper’s editors wrote in Sunday’s editions that as a result of his social and religious conservatism

While I'd say that Huck is more conservative than McCain on some social issues to call either a social conservative is a stretch, really. The Dallas Morning News' editorial board could care less who the Republican nominee is, they probably endorsed Huck because he wasn't the "presumptive nominee." I could see the exact same article without the religious implications being written about McCain had Huck been the "presumptive nominee."

Besides the fact that the Huckster isn’t McCain, he has also made conservative pledges that we can hold him to. McCain, hasn’t even changed his position on amnesty, or CFR. I’m glad that the Huckster hasn’t dropped out and I hope he keeps McCain from getting the 1191 delegates he needs to win the nomination outright.

Not odd. They know that McCain is going to be the GOP nominee, so they don’t want to explain why they supported him in the primaries when they are endorsing Obama in the general election. If Huckabee had been the apparent GOP nominee, they would have endorsed McCain.

Boy, that is great. I always wait until the DMN makes an endorsement before I know who to vote for. NOT!

Did Juan Mexicain just say that the Huckster was the future of the GOP? If that’s the case then we might be in bigger trouble then I thought. From what I can tell the only thing the Huckster has right is on Abortion, Gay rights, and Marriage.

Or maybe they looked at Huckabee’s real record in Arkansas rather than swallowing the pack of store-bought lies and distortions from the Club for Growth that most folks around here guzzled like Jim Jones’ Kool-Aid.

I subscribed to the Dallas Morning News for better than 25 years... but in 1996 I stopped when they crossed the line totally to the dark side by daily becoming just a clipping service for the The New York Times & Washington Post. I only see the Snooze occasionally when they muck up more royally than normally.

What's the delegate count?

Can Huckabee still pull this thing out and if so how?

Why has Free Republic so quickly pulled Huckabee's name out of "Popular Keywords" list especially since he's the closest thing by a (few thousand) country mile(s) to a conservative in this crazy race?

The comment about Huckabee being on the ‘wrong side of important issues like gay rights, etc’ infuriated me!!! >:-(
Journalists are supposed to be UNBIASED, hello!

We ended our subscription to the DMN years ago and hubby picks up the Sunday paper now and then—no more. I will not have a single dime coming from our pockets going into the pockets of this socialist, liberal, anti-conservative member of the dinosaur MSM!!! >;-(

Guess they are ‘promoting’ Huckabee (along with their glowing endorsement of the “It’s all about the O Guy”) to make people waste their votes on Huckabee? I’m starting to hope that Huckabee’s strategy works, that he can interfere enough with McCain’s delegate count to cause a brokered convention this summer!!! Arrrgggghhhhh. “Wrong side”—gak!!
