BERKELEY, Calif. (KCBS) -- The protests that continue in Berkeley over the Marine’s recruiting station come at a hefty price tag for the city.
Protests have been held every Friday for months outside the Marines recruitment center on Shattuck Avenue in Berkeley.
”It supports the war by continuing to pull people into the war machine,” said Jennifer Kitter, a Code Pink member, and regular at the protests.
The city manager says Berkeley police are spending $20,000 each time such a protest is held, to make sure that the demonstrators don’t get physical with each other.
”I’m supporting the troops, all of the troops, and in this case, the Marines,” said John Roy, a former Marine, who stands in front of the recruitment station waving an American flag.
Both sides vow the protests will continue.

Have a Nice Day! :-)”
Maybe modify the first line with:
“Hey Berkeley Tax Payers (all 11 of you)! Code Pink just cost you $20,000!”

A boycott of doing business in Berkeley is in order. That will make the cost of police protection nothing compared to hitting the local businesses hard. If the locals don’t like having a business boycott against the city, then they can recall their elected Liberal wackjobs. IMO, cities that harbor and elect traitors can suffer the financial consequences.

Simply up the protests to every day at 20 Grand a pop and Berkeley could go broke much sooner.:) $20,000 does seem excessive to make sure the two sides “don’t get physical with each other”— Translation: Make sure some Pinko doesn’t get hysterical and assault a Veteran or Patriot and show themselves for what they really are.
