PARIS, France (AP) -- Police said Friday that a body found in the River Seine was that of Katoucha Niane, a former top model for Yves Saint Laurent and other top designers who spoke out against female genital mutilation after quitting the catwalks. The body of former top model Katoucha Niane has been found in the river Seine. 1 of 2 Paris judicial police said her body was found Thursday near the Garigliano bridge in Paris. Police said an autopsy showed no signs of foul play, pointing to the possibility that she may have accidentally fallen into the river. She had been missing since January and was last seen returning home from a party. She lived in a houseboat near Paris' Alexandre III bridge, and her handbag was later found on the boat. Katoucha became one of the first African women to attain stardom as a supermodel, becoming a muse for Saint Laurent and posing for top photographers like Irving Penn.

I read an article by this woman many years ago in Reader’s Digest. She described how she was ritually mutilated at the age of 8 or 9 with an old razor blade and held down by her own mother. That she eventually escaped the grinding poverty and slavery of her muslim background is a testament to the human will to be free.
She was brave to speak out on this subject long before the West began to have a clue.

She was a brave woman; anybody who opposes the Muslims on this, especially a woman, knows what the risks are. I bet some Muslim nutcase followed her home from the party or was waiting on her houseboat when she got there.
