If tomorrow Bin Laud-en wanted to have a Permanent Cease Fire and part of the terms of their surrender is that United States is to pass all John McCain ideas and legaslation. I would say hell no.

I suggest you study up. The war on terror encompasses radical Islam worldwide, not just Bin Laden. It is a real and very dangerous threat. If you think Obama or Clinton would be better you need to expand your thinking.

If Hillary wins, she would push for universal health care, but it would not get passed because Republicans would filibuster so it would not become law. If McCain wins he would push for universal health care but it would get passed because few RINOS would go along with the Dems, (not filibuster) so it would become law. That goes for anything that Hillary tries to pass into law.But just a few RINOS with the Dems could pass anything with McCain.

So the RINO's would go along with McCain, but not with Hillary? A RINO is a RINO. Yes McCain is a RINO but he will be pressured by the conservative wing. I'd at least like to have a shot at having a voice. With Clinton/Obama it's zip, zero, nada.

John McCains parents were citizens of the US as far as I know. The Puerto Rico situation is based on Governorship and Representation as allowed in the Constitution. Has Puerto Rico ever tried to get statehood? (That’s the key)

The NYT propaganda machine is trying to push what they think are conservative buttons. They think that they are driving conservatives away from McCain.

On its face the statement seems silly since conservative ideologues have already roundly and very publicly rejected McCain.

Best guess is they are trying to drive a wedge between McCain and Reagan Democrats.

Unless someone can show me something I’ve missed (and I can find nothing anywhere referring to ANY other defense on this issue as of yet), Mccain is NOT a natural-born citizen of the United States and according to all applicable laws I’ve found, is NOT eligible to run for President. No, he was born in the territory of Arizona. At that point Arizona was incorporated even though it wasn't a state, so there is no doubt Goldwater was born in the US. But born in the US or not is not an issue, it's irrelevant. See my previous post.

Puerto Ricans do not vote for POTUS in Puerto Rico as the island does not possess votes in the Electoral College. The same is true of Guam, Virgin Islands etc. But any Puerto Rican can pick up an American Airlines flight out of San Juan to JFK and vote for President in NY State by registering to vote. I do not believe that any determination regarding eligibility for POTUS has ever been challenged.
