A photo showing Barack Obama dressed in Somali garb is being circulated by campaign staffers working for Democratic rival Hillary Clinton, according to DrudgeReport.com.

FOX News is working to confirm the report.

The photo was taken in 2006 during a trip through Africa. Obama was dressed as a Somali elder during a visit to southwestern Kenya, said the Drudge Report, which said a Clinton staff member had provided the photo to the Web site.

Well, I see a bit of racism happening in the liberal camp, feeding the fears of ignorant people. Bush is white, so wearing an ethnic garb looks like a Halloween costume. Obama “looks” the part. I find it very offensive that a pic like this is presented with these intentions. So if Ob was Irish and took pics in traditional costume then he could be presented as a member of the IRA? Or as a hobbit?

What they are saying is “you should be afraid of the Black Man”

It’s a primal fear left over from your great grandparents

Anyone that claimed that would be fool hearted considering how GW has taken the fight to terrorists. You can accusr GW of some things but being a terrorist sympathizer would be the very last. Be careful because your posts could easily make anyone conclude you support Obama and may be a liberal posting on this conservative forum. If the latter, you may not be around long.

But if he was trying to find his English heritage, you’d be ok with it?

Nation of Islam’s Farrakhan sings Obama’s praises

Last Update: 6:21 am

Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan listens to the applause of the crowd before delivering the keynote address at the Nation of Islam’s Saviour’s Day convention February 25, 2007 at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan.

CHICAGO (AP) - Nation of Islam Minister Louis Farrakhan is calling Barack Obama “the hope of the entire world” that the U.S. will change for the better.

The comments came during a Chicago speech Sunday in which Farrakhan never flatly endorsed Obama for the White House but spent most of his two-hour remarks praising him.

Farrakhan also took small shots at Obama’s Democratic rival Hillary Clinton, by suggesting that she’s practicing dirty politics.

It was the first major speech for the 74-year-old Farrakhan since being sidelined by prostate cancer a year ago. The minister has drawn attention in the past for remarks such as calling Judaism a “gutter religion,” but he has struck a more conciliatory tone in recent years.

Obama is distancing himself from Farrakhan’s praise. An Obama spokesman says the senator objects to Farrakhan’s past remarks and has not solicited his support.

“Other than the fact that Obama’s father left him at an early age and was muslim, what other evidence do people here have that Obama himself is in any way associated with islam? I have seen no evidence thus far; merely a bunch of innuendos.”

Then you apparently were unaware that Obama was born and raised as a Muslim, attended a Mulim school as a child and studed the Koran.

He was on a tour of Africa. President Bush has dressed they way at least once that I know of. There are reasons to dislike Obama-very liberal- but this is stupid and will backfire on the smartest woman in the world.

I would be ok with that since he’s supposedly an American and was raised by his American Mom, not his African Muslim dad. He already knows all there is to know about his dad, he’s a Muslim.

I think the link you posted referred to an earlier email, not this photo. It made fairly specific allegations of his being a muslim.

Nonetheless, in view of the current photo generated "scandal" I am digging through my attic looking for those damning photos of me in a sombrero on a long ago visit to mexico. Wouldn't want someone accusing me of being soft on illegal immigration based on such "hard evidence".

Obama scares me and I think he is starting to scare others, including democrats. Any effect from that will remain to be seen - but this photo isn't worth the time already spent on it.

“Why is it a smear? No one forced Obama to wear the garb. He did it on his own free will. Are you going to say next when he is called by his full name Barak HUSSEIN Obama, he is being smeared too?”

When you go to a foreign country, a guest will sometimes wear the garb out of courtesy. Bush does it, KKKlinton has done it, it’s common. KKKlinton sent this photo out for one reason, to hurt him by showing him as a muslim or a black guy dressed like an african. It’s totally a racist message. It’s Willy Horton, since they didnt have to SAY he was black, they just showed his pic.

I don’t like Obama, but I find this sort of campaigning repugnant. I don’t like McCain, but I found the NYT story awful as well.

A serious question for those who see this only as a cheap smear tactic:
Would it bother you if a muslim became POTUS? Forget about Obama, would it bother you if at some point in this nation’s history a muslim became President?

"They would not have been fired if it was not tacitly understood by all that this was a lie. I mean, why fire anyone over truthful emails?"

Easy. The easiest way for a liberal to divorce themselves from any accusation of blame is to toss someone under the bus. These are nature of the charges kind of people. Witness the Rockefeller memo. WHO got thrown under the bus? Not the originator of the memo. No, the accusations against Obama cropped up almost as son as he declared, long before he appeared to be an actual threat. I have a hard time believing anyone in the Clinton campaign had that much foresight. When a Clintonista sets up such a carefully scripted scenario, they ALWAYS follow through.

What people who are defending the Hillary defamation don’t seem to see is that if The Witch will do this to one of her own,can you imagine the depths she and her campaign will sink to in torpedoing Mc Cain in the general?

Sorry but there is no way you know Obama is not a Muslim. Only he and his wife know. You do not. He has a pattern though that leans towards that and not away from it.

I’ll call him a radical socialist and not any kind of Christian. I’ve studied terrorism for decades and have read the QuRan. Thus, I will keep my suspicions of him.
