Imagine the transformative effects in the region, and indeed in the entire Muslim world, of achieving a secure and stable Iraq, friendly to the United States and victorious over al-Qaeda. Are the Democrats so intent on denying George Bush retroactive vindication for a war they insist is his that they would deny their own country a now-achievable victory?

It is typical of the Leftist/Democrats to CREATE excuses, and to POINT THE FINGER OF BLAME upon a targeted person, and to a lesser extent targeted situation. To do so exonerates themselves, and explains why, somehow. Then everything is OK...It’s somebody, or someTHING’s fault.

Regardless their BDS trumps, therefore prefaces any creative excuses and finger pointing without regard to consequences of life.

To them, “ so what!” thousands, millions died at the fall of Viet Nam. “So What!” thousands, millions will die at the fall of Iraq. “So What!” Our Nation is disgraced once again. It doesn’t effect them personally.

They are detached from reality, and their “Support”, and their “compassion” is false. Their only concern is for themselves and their appetite for personal POWER, thus benefits.

It never ceases to amaze me the Leftists/Democrats Modus Operandi to achieve POWER, thus PRIVILEGE so as NOT to have to live in the World perspective they envision the rest of us must.

I was there as a member of 1/9 in the Evacuation of Saigon. We can NEVER allow that to happen again. One of the most enduring visions I still have from that debacle is of a German Priest & Nun who had run an orphanage in Saigon. As they were leaving their compound (all the kids having been evacuated earlier), they found a little baby that the parents had left on their doorstep so that they'd take the child with them to America.

As a parent, I can even begin to imagine how painful it would be to have to leave one of my kids with someone to take them to safety.

These are the lessons that the leftists never seem to get - in the name of getting our troops out to appease a constituency, they would sell the people of Iraq into unending chaos.

Yes, the Dems will do anything, including damaging their own country’s interests and destroying a new nation that COULD be a model for the Middle East, to denigrate Bush and the Republican party.

All Congressman would get pink-slipped, the good and the bad, and the positions would be filled, temporarily, by returning military that are being discharged, for their respective states, and limited to two years, followed my regular elections, strict term-limit, and a line-item veto. There would be a decrease of 20 percent per year of Federal employees on the rolls, until the Federal government did not employ one person more than the state with the most employees on their rolls (probably California).
Social Security would be phased out over twelve years, as would Medicare.
There would be a strict ban on taxes over 10% at the Federal level. Government should not receive more than God.
Four of our current Supreme Court Justices would choose between resignation or impeachment.
The Justice department would aggressively pursue the ACLU, several Unions, and 527’s for RICO and/or treason violations.
Other than the military, no individual would receive a check from a government institution (job or any welfare) such that the collective years of compensation was greater than 12.

Harry Reid would be publicly hanged, as an example to all.

I have drafted a dialog to some employees at work which include his article. It will be interesting for me to see their reactions. I made it clear in notes I added, where Cordesman standed earlier on, as well as embellished a standard sets of things that we have accomplished in Iraq since the SASO took hold.

I doubt that they’ll even consider the article. They want to be entitled to their own set of facts, and to them Iraq failing is an article of faith.

The Democratic Party leadership hate George Bush with such a passion. They have never accepted him as our president because in their minds he “stole” the presidency from Gore in 2000. It’s shortsighted thinking, but then what did you really expect from a bunch of liberals anyway?
