[history]
Early in Senator John McCains first run for the White House eight years ago, waves of anxiety swept through his small circle of advisers.
A female lobbyist had been turning up with him at fund-raisers, in his offices and aboard a clients corporate jet. Convinced the relationship had become romantic, some of his top advisers intervened to protect the candidate from himself instructing staff members to block the womans access, privately warning her away and repeatedly confronting him, several people involved in the campaign said on the condition of anonymity.
When news organizations reported that Mr. McCain had written letters to government regulators on behalf of the lobbyists clients, the former campaign associates said, some aides feared for a time that attention would fall on her involvement.
Mr. McCain, 71, and the lobbyist, Vicki Iseman, 40, both say they never had a romantic relationship.

Every person in America is a lobbyist. People picketing or demonstrating against lobbyists or actually lobbying against lobbyists. Why pick on the ones that are successful? Is anyone actually stupid enough to think that any politician anywhere on the planet makes decisions in a vacuum?
Lobbyists are a good thing.

I don’t think there is any other pilot in history who cost the Navy as much in equipment. History.

McCain met with a lobbyist? And she was female? OMG!!!!!!!!!!
/sI can't believe how many here are ready to dump him already because the NYTs outed him for actually meeting with a female lobbyist. That is the extent of the allegation isn't it? Yet I can show you a list of articles on his corruption, conservative backstabbing and consistent leftist tendencies as long as your arm all leading to the conclusion that he's unfit for office, any office, and you just shrug your shoulders.
I guess the articles I link to just aren't believable because they weren't published by far left newspapers. They don't call the GOP the Stupid Party for nothing.

McCain just turns my stomach. I have visceral dislike for the guy after seeing him in action, bullying people with his holier than thou attitude. Nothing would please me more than to see him take it up the r**r before the convention.
Im a hardcore republican, and this guy turn my stomach.

"The woman in question has retained counsel and strongly denies receiving any special treatment from McCain." So, the deals McCain worked for the cable and telecomm companies were commonplace? He gave that treatment to everyone? Bring out the investigators! I'd say the boxing and tribal gaming industries would be a good place to start.

Thanks for the ping. I never saw an election like this one. What next?
I have to say, though, while I’m strongly against RINO McCain, I don’t trust the NYT, or Overbite (as Mark Levin calls him).
Anyway, I hope the truth comes out, and SOON.

Jesus, you people are low.
The story behind that photo is well known. McCain had just given a speech endorsing George Bush as the nominee. Bush grabbed McCains hand and jerked his arm above their heads. McCain gritted his teeth and managed to say It doesnt go that high. The picture is of McCain displaying solidarity the only way he can.
