Look at the time this story was posted.
The government of Cuba was up in the wee hours. That generally won’t happen with any government, (at the level required), unless there has been an EVENT.
A “statement” arbitrarily announced at that time? Bull. Pure unadulterated bull.
This wreaks of damage control and continuity maintenance.

Good question. If Castro is dead and things change for the good, just how many of the Cubans here WILL go back to Cuba when it’s all safe to do so. Will there be a mass migration back to the motherland? Or have they gotten so used to sucking off US that they’ll just stay here? Time will tell.

Cuban President Fidel Castro, left, and his brother Raul, chief of the Cuban armed forces, stand at attention as the bodies of 24 Cubans who died during the U.S. invasion of Granada are removed from an airplane at Havana's Jose Marti Airport in this Sunday, Nov. 13, 1983 file photo. Fidel officially designated Raul as his successor at a Communist Party congress in October 1997. On Tuesday Feb. 19, Fidel Castro said he will not accept a new term when the newly elected parliament meets on Sunday. (AP Photo, file)

This story seems to be a big yawn in the rest of the nation but when I drove by the hub of activity on 8th street yesterday (Calle Ocho) the place was pandemonium! It only grew more intense as the Cuban exiles in this town (I live in Miami, FL) went into a true frenzy. Many are calling for Castro to be indicted for crimes against humanity. Nobody else in the country even cares.

I'm watching last night's tonight show on my Tivo and apparently Jay Leno had the first American TV appearance of Raul Castro.
