TOP 10 REASONS NOT TO VOTE FOR MCCAIN
Don Feder's Cold Steel Caucus ^ | 02/14/2008 | Don Feder

Posted on 02/16/2008 1:49:07 PM PST by Witch-king of Angmar

I just got back from the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Washington, D.C., where conservatives began lining up behind a man who’s been sticking it to us for years. By a process of self-hypnosis, many have managed to convince themselves that McCain is actually one of us.

Not for nothing did Benjamin Disraeli call conservatives the stupid party.

What part of John McCain do we not get? McCain-Kennedy, McCain-Feingold, McCain-Lieberman, McCain-Edwards -- among other socialist, anti-speech, open-borders, enviro-Marxist measures he’s co-sponsored with the hardcore left of the Democratic Party over the years.

If Il Duce had served with him in the United States Senate, there would be McCain-Mussolini.

It's over - now we have to do what's best for the country and that's John McCain, versus Hillary! or Obama.

Ever read Charlie Brown? Well I have let Lucy tee up that football for the last time when I voted for GW twice, not going to happen again.

I would rather have a Republican opposition in both houses than go through another RINO administration that gets no opposition except if he wants to do something smart, which don't happen all that often anyway.

Nope wouldn't be prudent.

Rather than a pendulam I think of an amplitude modified sinusoidal curve. If Mc Cain is considered as a liberal, then he represents an amplitude limited liberal null following what some would say is a somewhat amplitude limited Bush high.

The next cycle is positive again.

I won’t concede loss in ‘12 now because there is an interregnum in which to groom a solidly conservative candidate. Perhaps the new VP or Perhaps Duncan Hunter can begin campaigning against Huckabee next January.

We must not fear the Presstitutes, we must continue to attack and bring about their destruction. The Process is well underway. Ask ABB to be included on his ping list to see the day to day death throes of the Dinasaur media.

"There is no rational reason, no unselfish reason for not voting for the Republican nominee

How about remembering Bob Dole's humiliating defeat, you are heading down the same road, and we have been predicting it for over four years. GW's daddy was a compromise forced on Ronald Reagan, now we are being repaid in spades for getting out of line with the NWO.

“While watching the endless pundit blather on TV tonight after the Republican Michigan Primary and Democratic Nevada Debate and reading the various opinion meisters commentaries online, I had one of those rare zen moments of simplicity. It all comes down to a simple question:

Who would you like to be in the White House if Pakistan fell to al Qaeda and the Islamists gained control of its nuclear arsenal?

Answer that question and you will know your candidate. All the rest, as they say, is commentary.”

John Nance Garner spent his entire adult life working his way up to Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, and then gave it up to become Vice President. He later said it was the "worst damn fool mistake I ever made."

"Being Vice President is not worth a bucket of warm spit."

I’m with you Soldier Dad. Our troops deserve a CIC who will support them. God bless them all.

Any idea how many of our soldiers have been charged with war crimes under the current CIC? How about border guards in jail?

I served nine years, eleven months, and 16 days, probably before you were born, so don't even go there.

Did you vote for the Republicans in 2000 or 2004? Because you know that the "Amnesty" plan of President Bush (McCain supported) was a plank of the GOP platform.

Nope I did exactly what you propose I do now. How well has that worked out for us?

Not this time soldier.

WHAT IS YOUR ALTERNATIVE TO VOTING FOR JOHN MCCAIN IN NOVEMBER THAT IS BETTER THAN HAVING THE DEMOCRATS WIN?

I'll admit that it may be a foregone conclusion that McCain is the Republican nominee, since the primary system, as flawed as it is, is far enough along to where McCain damn near wins by default. If that is the case, then I will vote third party, or write-in.

It is my opinion that those of you deciding to hold your nose and vote McCain to stop the Hillary/Obama disaster are being merely pennywise and pound foolish. Sure, we may avoid having the worst elements of socialism and anti-Americanism implemented if Hillary/Obama are not in office, but McCain would implement many of those elements, or allow them to be implemented so that he can bask in the warm glow of an adoring mainstream media. However, you would be guaranteeing that the Republican Party, currently the only viable vehicle for conservatism, would shift even farther left. So, the end result would be that we trade the intense pain that we would exeprience now for intense pain that we would experience later.

Well, I say let's just deal with the pain now. It is better that we do it, than our children and grandchildren. Those who would sell out conservatism to spare themselves pain now , while dumping it in their children's laps, are not serving the American conservative ideal; they are serving themselves. I say let's get it on now. Let's give all of the mindless voting public all of the socialist policies they can handle, if that's what it takes to wake them up. And, if it turns out they like it, then there was never any hope for us anyway.

....”Who do you want as CIC if your son, daughter, close relative or friend was serving in any branch of service?”....

....”A lot of use served through Carter and survived.”....

Exactly! I served in the USN from 1977-1980 and we got along just fine even though “Stupid” was in the white house.

I will not be bullied into voting for McLib. Ever! I posted last summer that I would NEVER vote for Juan McCain under any circumstances. This is STILL one of those circumstances!

As an Electronics Technician, I actually understand your analogy. Unfortunately, I still don’t agree with it. :)

The problem is the MSM represents a diode, biased to only allow public opinion to swing on one side of the zero Volt reference point, thus nulling all current flow in opposition to their bias.

Sorry, I couldn’t resist. :)

“Fact is we got the worst of the worst under Republican Presidents.”

Exactly! In my opinion, this election is what it is: A train wreck. So now is the time to look to the future. I know there are those who disagree with me, but a McCain loss now is a net gain for the future. Four years of Hillary gives us time to regroup. Four years of McCain is four more years of duck, cover, explain, shudder, and lose ground.

Personally, I don’t think Hillary will be effective for the left, and thus can serve as a useful idiot for for us.

‘08 is lost. We can win back congress in two years with Hillary backlash. McCain backlash loses it all for eight to twelve years.

....”So if you, by not voting or voting third party, on “principals”, thus putting either of these two in to power have you yourself not executed a tresonous act?”....

HOW DARE YOU! To suggest that anyone who will not simply fall in line and vote for a liberal with an (R) after his name is somehow committing an act of TREASON???? I repeat, HOW DARE YOU!

I have voted a straight down the line GOP ballot everytime it has been presented to me since I was first of age to vote (my first national election was in 1980 and I voted for some obscure guy from California named Ronald Wilson Reagan). I even held my nose and voted for GWB! Twice! Because he was, as you are trying to tell me again tonight, “He is the lesser of two evils”! Well, NOT THIS TIME BROTHER!

I want to know who the hell decides these primary elections? Mine is not for another three days, yet my choice has already been made for me? I have my choice in the general election of voting for Liberal X or Liberal Y and if I WON’T vote for any liberal (PERIOD!) it is trason?

You sir, can kiss my political behind! Not on left side, not even on the right side. But in the groove!

McCain is no different from Hillary or Obama. All of them are unfit to be POTUS.

BUMP!!

Hillary would be awful as POTUS
Obama would be awful as POTUS
McCain would be awful as POTUS

Be fortunately we do not live in a dictatorship.

IMHO, we should spend our time and money working to take back Congress. The Prez can do very little without the cooperation of Congress.

We at least agree on one point.

In November 2000 I became convinced that before we could prevail we must harness the media. It is now 7 years later and we have made great strides in that direction. Talk radio rules, the newspapers are hemorrhaging readers and in decline, the blogworld can destroy media icons.....all unthinkable in 2000.

Now you tout liberals as a temporary place holder. On the first day of that place holding there will be calls and legislation for implementing the fairness doctrine. The DOD will be directed to remove Rush from Armed Forces Radio, Free Republic will be taxed into oblivion.

Rather than do nothing about the offending diode, election of a Republican will be like installing a switch that has the effect of removes it from the circuit.
