RICHMOND (AP) — Illegal aliens contribute an estimated $400 million to Virginia's economy annually in taxes, according to a study released yesterday by a group hoping to counter some illegal-alien criticism in the legislature. The Commonwealth Institute for Fiscal Analysis estimates that illegal aliens contribute between $379 million and $453 million a year in income, sales, property and other taxes.

"Some of the strongest voices against immigration in Virginia have characterized undocumented immigrants as takers, as people who do not contribute to our state and to our community. This research clearly demonstrates that they are wrong," said Michael Cassidy, executive director of the organization.

AP strikes again. Pure propaganda. This information comes from the supposedly "independent" Commonwealth Institute for Fiscal Analysis. Sounds like a nice bunch of even-handed, fair minded economists, yes? But dig little deeper and you find its "partners" are Virginia Coalition for the Homeless, Virginia Community Action Partnership, Virginia Poverty Law and the infamous Virginia Organizing Project -- which has direct ties to Socialism advocacy group Industrial Areas Foundation, of Saul Alinsky fame. This organization was closely involved in organizing the illegal immigrant boycott and demonstrations in Prince William County, Va. last year. To sum up, it is an advocacy group for illegal immigrants and other societal parasites, working to ensure that we pay higher taxes to support lawbreakers. Remember Mexicans without Borders and the Woodbridge Workers Committee? Those groups are their allies. This Commonwealth Institute report is lies piled upon lies, and AP reported it as a statement of fact. To pile it even higher, the institute funding comes from local and regional government grants. Your tax money is being used to advocate for more spending, and higher taxes. How stupid do they think we are?

Virginia alone spends more than that just to educate their kids. And I wouldn’t be surprised if the added road maintenance costs alone outweighed their contributions.

That would be possible if they are making $10 per hour...I guess.

But how much are the services COSTING the state? My guess is it is many MAMY times the lowly $1,600 they bring to the state.

I wonder if the report even mentions the costs these illegals bring to the system. Schools, hospitals, etc. My bet is the costs are far higher than the ‘contributions’. Far higher.

I was in our local J.C. Penney yesterday and only hear spanish spoken. All the clerks and checkouts, except one, were hispanic. The few of us non-hispanic rarely spoke. It was not what my community has been until the change really started being noticeable until a couple of years ago.
