No: 08-018 State Of Alaska Joins Texas Amicus Brief
February 8, 2008, Juneau, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin announced the State of Alaska will join the multi-state amicus brief authored by the State of Texas in support of the Second Amendment right of individual Americans to bear arms.
On Tuesday, February 5, 2008, Alaska Attorney General Talis Colberg notified Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott that Alaska would sign on to the brief. The Texas amicus brief in the case Washington, D.C. v. Heller will be filed by February 11, 2008.
Governor Palin, a lifelong member of the National Rifle Association, has long been a champion of the constitutional right to bear arms, as well as a proponent of gun safety programs for Alaskas youth.
I am proud to join the State of Texas in support of the Second Amendment, Governor Palin said. We need to send a strong message that law-abiding citizens have a right to own firearms, for personal protection, for hunting and for any other lawful purpose.

In practice and tradition the 2A is an individual right.
Let me prepare you all for what will happen in March:
The SC will rule that the 2A is indeed an individual right, BUT government has the power to reasonably restrict access/use.
Little will change except that DC citizens will be allowed to own handguns in their homes. They will be highly regulated.

hehehe She's definitely a very beautiful woman, and has always seemed authentic to me. Maybe I'm just a sucker for her pretty face, and maybe it's beauty queen poise training that allows her to handle fish like a pro, but I actually believe she was a commercial and sport fisherman, and while I'm not so sure I'd agree with all of her positions, I believe she would bring energy to a ticket, and social conservatism that's respectful of individual rights. But again, maybe it's just wishful thinking, after all the disappointments in the prez track.
In summary, I think she'd be a smart pic for a VP slot. I just wouldn't want her choosing names for anything (her children are Bristol, Piper, Track, and Willow). :-)

Just curious... Is that pendant a "Tinkerbell" (the Disney flying fairy)? Does anybody recognize it as something else?
I think she'd make a terrific Veep. Might make me interested in voting in November; which would be a vast improvement over my present inclination, which is to puke my guts out.

If there is any indication on how important this SCOTUS case is, and the lack of any 2nd Amendment cases for what...70 years?...it is that so many briefs have been filed. I was surprised to see a congressional brief, but one from the States too. Wow. All eyes on SCOTUS this spring/summer.

If they get caught up in the twisted language of that Congressional brief, there will be some real howling--and a sign that the SCOTUS has jumped the shark. If they don't play politics and just do their job, they can demonstrate that they are still worthy of great respect.

The GOP could do a lot worse than she! Just realized I used a poor gramatical construction. >blush!<
While what I wrote could be correct, what I really meant was to say "worse than nominating her"
